Patience Obama Supporters - This Nomination will not be won based on todays polls, not even close!
Edited on Wed Mar-19-08 01:31 PM by FrenchieCat
The false propaganda is surging; but that's about it.

Polls that are just now measuring the actual "Wright" fall out from the endless loop-d-loop replay of Obama's pastor. Obama's numbers will be back up by next week.....and in some polls are already showing a upward rise.

And don't buy this BS that White people won't be voting for Obama in the GE. That's just more racial divisiveness brought to us by Hillary supporters and the Paid for Media Pundit know nothings (Pat Buchanan is an admitted racist; Joe "dead Intern" Scarborough was a Republican hack before he had his own show, and Lou Dobbs is just a pompous asshole Repug immigration freak playing on our fears) crying gloom and doom for Obama, cause that's all they've got.

Please understand that our electorate is not as dumb as what it used to be. Folks are thinking more and more for themselves, and aren't swallowing whole the Media/Hillary/McCain "talking Points" attacks.....which is why Hillary/McCain folks are repeating them over and over again, hoping that the same kind of cheap and tawdry politics that worked in getting us into Iraq for 5 years, will work now with their exaggerating hyperbole "the sky is falling on Obama" bullshit.

So know that although Hillary "bloggers" and "operatives" and "pundit heads" are trying mighty hard to influence the news cycle and the board with their "Polls of the day", these polls mean very little in the larger scheme of things....as we can all point to polls taken 5 weeks before any primary, time and time again, and those poll numbers have very little to do with what happened in the end.

Also remember that McCain has a Manchurian candidate problem and a Pastor problem of his own. Plus he has his own Keating 5 problem, his Wife was a drug addict & thief problem. McCain also has an age problem, a "I don't understand the economy problem", a "in Iraq forever problem", a temper tantrum problem, a Lobbyist up the Yang-Yang problem, and he bigger still, he has a Bush problem. In other words, Obama can and will beat John McCain.

Hillary Clinton has a pledged Delegate problem, a Tax return Problem, a fund raiser problem, a permanente negative favorability problem, a questionable "experience" problem, a lack of a statesmanship problem, a voted for Iraq problem, and a few others "Hillary supporters are afraid to death as to what will come out" problem :scared: that will be highlighted as the weeks come and go.

The Clinton Operatives will soon realize that, as much as they wished, they weren't able to character assassinate Obama. And as determined as they have been, if they can't do it, McCain supporters (who don't like him anyways, and so the won't have the energy to do what Hillary supporters, who are currently whipped up to a frenzy are attempting to currently do(, it won't be done.

The Dems will end up nominating a leader and a statesman, and that ain't Hillary Clinton.

Obama will be the next President of the US.

Please write LTTE's to various newspapers, go to Obama.com and make calls, and donate, donate, donate! We want him to have had a good March month in fund raising.

Believe me, have patience, and keep kicking and Recommending the positive threads on Barack Obama as often as possible, and don't answer so much in those negative threads about Obama that Hillary supporters keep coming up with. They can only try to win (and they still won't) by bringing our guy down, cause they can't really lift their gal up.

So just remember who the future President will be,
and get inspired and motivated....cause Obama is the real thing!

4. We haven't gotten a poll since the race speech ... his numbers will go up
Also, today HRC released her WH schedules, and reporters will be poring over them for
the next few days. Already news coverage is reminding me of the '90s (and is probably
doing the same for other voters) ... Do we REALLY want to go back there? She thinks
that pointing to her WH experience will help her but in actuality I think it only
reminds people that she's a figure from our PAST, not the leader we need going into
the FUTURE.

But not enough that he stopped at labeling her a bigot in public. Wright , on the other hand isn't a bigot because he is black and his anger is more acceptable than her fear. He should not have included negative remarks about his grandmother no matter what else he said

What evidence do you have to back up your claim that the hard-working middle class listened to that speech and took nothing from it other than "Obama called his grandma a racist?"

I mean, honestly. Did you take a poll of the hard-working middle class this morning, or are you just channeling Pat Buchanan?

It says a lot about you, but, nonetheless...

As a hard-working member of the Ohio Middle Class, I just finished a 90-minute lunch at an old-fashioned diner, and my friends and I were marvelling at eavesdropping on all the "Obama speech" talk that surrounded us. Very diverse downtown crowd.

Nothing scientific, but it really is kind of laughable to suggest that over 24 hours later, nobody except a handful of "Obamaniacs" at DU listened to his address.

He said he loved her in spite of the fact that she was afraid of black people.

The hard working (and some not so hard working) middle class who cannot understand his speech are not too bright. They will get what they deserve if they vote for McCain. Then of course, they will not be middle class for long. They can then blame their losses (jobs, homes, health care) on the black and brown people, while refusing to take any responsibility for their choices.

68. I hear you.
Please hear me for a moment.

I don't think you were called a racist. Literally, someone suggested that the American people weren't as racist as you wanted them to be. Perhaps that is an accusation that you are racist too. Perhaps, or perhaps not. But that's not what was literally said. At the very least, what was literally said was rude because I don't believe that you want anyone to be racist. And because it was rude, I hear and understand your anger.

But think about this for a moment ...

Obama is the first Democrat to run for President who can't be Willie Horton-ed. I don't think Obama "introduced this concept that everyone who disagrees with his campaign" is a racist. I don't think he did that. But, just look at what a weapon that will be in the GE against the Republicans. If everyone who attacks Obama is perceived as a racist (and the people attacking him are Republicans), we win. We (Democrats) win.

It's that simple. Obama's teflon is stronger than Ronald Reagan's for this very reason. If nominated, he will be a very strong candidate.

Just something to consider.

That was what Axelrod was when he was telling Huffington Post that Hillary would "do anything" on the eve of Obama's unity speech. He didn't want Obama's supporters to forget that they hated Clinton in the joy of their Kumbaya moment.

33. No Hillary has Jesus on her side but not to help the "meek"
referring to her membership in the Christan fellowship

The Family avoids the word Christian but worship Jesus, though not the Jesus who promised the earth to the "meek." They believe that, in mass societies, it's only the elites who matter, the political leaders who can build God's "dominion" on earth. Insofar as the Family has a consistent philosophy, it's all about power - cultivating it, building it, and networking it together into ever-stronger units, or "cells." "We work with power where we can," Doug Coe has said, and "build new power where we can't."

"the Family takes credit for some of Clinton's rightward legislative tendencies, including her support for a law guaranteeing "religious freedom" in the workplace, such as for pharmacists who refuse to fill birth control prescriptions and police officers who refuse to guard abortion clinics."

class whites in OH and PA are racist. I do not believe this. Clinton is getting the white working class vote b/c of the Clinton name and the myth over the Clinton good years. If this was the case, the Republicans wouldn't be joining with Clinton (the unholy alliance) to try to tear Obama down (they would be falling all over themselves to make him the nominee).

I am also sick of the stupid illogical arguments they make to build up Clinton and tear down Obama (which really speaks volumes about what they think of the average voter - they are stupid).

With all of the free positive media press Clinton gets, Obama needs all the money he can get.

Divide and fight each other . Unite and fight together to get this country back on the right track. The choice is pretty easy.

Bottom line...this whole pastor thing is an attack from the right based on race. No one on DU should be running around trying to put Obama's head on a pike for this crap, especially post-speech. The fact that some have really speaks volumes to me about their level of progressiveness.

True progressives do not put on Republican hats when convenience suits them.

52. Why do you have to lie?
If Obama is all the things you say he is, you guys wouldn't sink to this level.

73. My parents raised me to believe that "lie" was a bad word, unless
one could actually prove it. You haven't proven anything...cause, point if fact, you don't even make sense!

56. "Obama's the real thing"! That's
what I told our Black Green Mountain Coffee driver, yesterday, at work, whom I hadn't seen for a couple of years 'cause I don't ever work on Tuesday anymore except I had to cover someone, .. when I said "so, Obama?" He said, "I thought so until this Pastor thing came up"..I was roiling inside but just told him that "Obama made a speech today for the ages on race, Wright, and America that takes our country to a whole new level that's actually higher". "We can't let the m$$$m control who we get for president anymore".

"Obama is the real thing and he is going to be our President!"

57. Don't forget
her "elephant in the livingroom" problem -- pun intended.

"Hillary Clinton has a pledged Delegate problem, a Tax return Problem, a fund raiser problem, a permanente negative favorability problem, a questionable "experience" problem, a lack of a statesmanship problem, a voted for Iraq problem, and a few others "Hillary supporters are afraid to death as to what will come out" problem that will be highlighted as the weeks come and go.+

61. K&R, there are also reports that...
Edited on Wed Mar-19-08 03:40 PM by AntiFascist
media reporting is being influenced by campaign money. This is really sad, but I also feel that the American people will see right through this for what it is. How much more M$M bullshit will the people tolerate? This how Bush got elected twice (stole 2 elections and got away with it), this is how we got into Iraq, this is even, largely, how vulnerable people learned about the "advantages" of sub-prime mortgages. If people are stupid enough to continue listening to the M$M then our nation is doomed, but I think they are starting to wake up.

62. I hope you are right
I mean the freaks who listen to Pills Limbaugh, Hannity and the rest of hate radio were never friends of Obama anyway. Shit I expect Pills and Hannity to be leading a KKK march on the dem convention because of the foaming at the mouth attacks on Obama they are spewing daily.

I fear for the future of this country if these fascists have their way.

71. The pundits are being disengenuous when they point out that 36%
of indies are affected by the Wright saga. 36% of indies are wingnuts. There are left leaning indies and right leaning indies. That 36% never intended to vote Democratic in the first place. And the number of dems they cite that are affected are hillbot sore losers.
