Joe Madison tore up Pat Buchanan on Tweety today
Pat was barely able to look him in the eye, while Joe stared at Pat with amazement. He cut down Pat's BS arguments about Wright on every point. Jeez, MSNBC needs to lose Pat.

2. They need to lose Pat and hire Joe
Funny - he didn't tell Joe to "shut up" did he? He's a big talker and bigger bully when he's going after someone on the remote screen but he's not so tough when he's face to face with someone who is not afraid to challenge him!

20. Buchanan was such a bully in his 20s that he once assaulted a POLICE OFFICER
IIRC.

Looks like age really has slowed him down. But that incident in his youth speaks volumes about the racial divide. What would have happened to an African American who assaulted a cop?

3. Madison looked like a giant in that segment. Buchanan, a flea.
MSNBC can and should do better. Time to turn the page on Pat. We've seen and heard enough from the segment of small-minded America.

6. Pat is a tribalist chickenshit
Joe Madison pwned him today. You were right, Pat was afraid to look him in the eye. Pat needs to ride off in the sunset on his "white" horse!

7. Buchanan was shown for the bigot he is. I love when he starts spouting
his views of how "the public" will react. He hasn't been right about anything, and you can pretty much guess if Pat is predicting it, it isn't going to happen.

11. I'm with you...
Pat did get steamrolled and it revealed the bigot he is, he has an agenda.

Kudos to Joe Madison.

I am sick and tired of these RW pundits telling Democrats how we should view something and how we are going to vote.

Screw that, it is high time that the American Public stop letting the media control how we vote. It is high time we do our own research and stop relying on spin to form an opinion.

12. Compare race-baiting Pat to his sister Bay last night on Cooper's 360. Amazing! Gergen noticed!
BUCHANAN: Are whites going to vote for Obama? How about Hispanics? Are they going to? And like with Mitt Romney, are Mormons -- are you going to vote for a Mormon?

It's time to put all that to rest. And let's just talk about Americans are voting for Americans, and let's see where it flows from there.

BROWN: But there are some divisions there.

And I guess, David, I mean, not only did he address the anger of some blacks, but he embraced some of the resentments that you see in those divisions of whites. Do you think that white voters would be swayed by this?

GERGEN: As -- again, I think white suburban voters are going to find the speech enormously appealing. And -- and they will have a -- we have seen these fiery speeches -- fiery speeches now by the minister.

But, when you look at Barack Obama speaking, you know, there's not a radical bone in his body. And when you recognize that Oprah Winfrey went to that church and attended that church from time to time, you understand that there's a range of people who go there. And Oprah Winfrey is anything but a radical in American society.

So, I think it's going to appeal enormously to suburban voters. I do think he's going to continue to have some problems. And I think this is a wound that's not going to go away quickly...

MARTIN: Sure.

GERGEN: ... among some blue-collar voters and male voters, and I think the conservatives.

And it's -- it's notable, I think it's remarkable, to listen to Bay Buchanan tonight, because if she's -- if there are others like that in the conservative community, he really has made progress there. But there are going to be others who will continue to roast him.

But, you know, one other thing about the speech that I think really stood out, he's one of the rare figures -- figures who speaks to us as adults.

18. How many times did Pat run for president?
If he's such an expert on the "white working class voters" and if he feel they are the only ones that count then why did he do so poorly when he ran.

21. I don't get MSM repubs
Do they know how small and ignorant they appear when they make these convoluted arguments on why the speech was so bad. They fucking expect him to divorce from a guy thats been a part of his life for 20 years. A normal person wouldn't do that. Especially when "the wacky uncle" says some things I don't find very negative. Its not much more extreme than my personal opinions. I don't think he got his parishioners from that material. I think they can overlook some excessiveness because of his overall spirituality.

Edited on Wed Mar-19-08 07:37 PM by OhioBlue
Was Pat saying that he attended a church and the minister was involved in the burning of a black church?
