I'm getting angrier and angrier at Senator Clinton
I'm *this* close to giving her the nickname of Senator Huckary Rodham Clinton. She has no chance to win the nomination without the Council of Elders anointing her. The only purpose she is serving right now is to give us less of a chance to win in November by destroying Senator Obama at every turn. Really another form of Ralph Nader if you will.

The blood is starting to boil. Comfort me DU!

101. She Has Behaved Disgracefully Against Her Own Party
Declaring McCain a better potential President than her Democratic opponent?

Indefensible and a permanent stain. Those who would try to defend ANY Democrat who would do this: You do not have the best interests of the party at heart.

Without an apology from her (or ANY Democrat who would do this), she is permanently tainted.

97. The intention of the amendment to the bill
was to prohibit the use of cluster bombs in civilian populated areas. Civilians = woman, children, and non-combatants. Hillary voted against the amendment, ergo she's in favor of dropping cluster bombs on civilian populations, which includes children. Spin until you're dizzy, but by her voting record she's a war-mongerer and murderer.

Who said anything about "pinning hopes on Hillary."

Get over it- she's not the boogieman, and you can't simply characterize every person who has a take that differs from your arrogant naivety as a Hillbot or some such thing.

FACTS are, Obama needs superdelegates, too.

Moreover, it may come to pass that people will have reason to recall the original purpose of the superdelegates- which was to avoid another McGovern style disaster.

If that happens- I hope they show more political fortitude than what we've seen from Congress this past 8 years- because I for one, prefer not to hand the far right another election.

6. You have no conception of how the delegate count works
If I may remind you Mondale was behind Hart about 50 delegates after all the primaries but the SD's gave him the nomination because they thought he was more electable. Remember hart had that affair.

37. You're very wrong
Hart was far, far away from enough delegates. At the convention, Mondale bested him by 1000 delegates. He was 700 delegates away from the nomination.

And his "affair" derailed his campaign in 1988, not 1984, when he ran against Mondale.

prove your point?

Mondale was far ahead of Hart in delegates but still shy of the number needed to put him over the top. The superdelegates gave Mondale the number of votes needed to secure the nomination, but Hart was still hundreds of delegates behind.

At the convention, Mondale received 2191 delegates. Hart received 1200.

Sorry - you'll have to copy/paste the entire link. The parentheses are throwing it off.

and do you concede that the Donna Rice affair occurred in 1988, not 1984?

14. I have defended Hillary Clinton since 1992.
I always genuinely liked and respected her.

Since February 5th of this year, I have started to understand all the things the Repukes have said about her. And I am not only angry at her for dragging this thing on and damaging the party, but I am angry at her for becoming that which the Repukes have always accused her. Ruthless and willing to sacrifice anything - including the Democratic party and it's chances of taking back Executive Branch - for personal ambition.

It's very disappointing. If somehow she becomes the nominee (which would go against everything democratic BTW), I will very unenthusiastically vote for her.

and i would say whatever negative i felt about him. and if i felt he wasn't ready, i would certainly say so. i will agree that i wouldn't have let penn near my campaign with a 10 foot pole. i don't like all of her decisions, but i don't think they suggest she wants power just for the sake of having power. she's helped people for a looooong time. And i don't think there is anything that has been done to make obama unelectable in the least. worst thing she said was that 'he has a speech he wrote in 2002'. that was the worst part and sometimes i feel like that too. i'm sorry. not sure i would have said it myself, but she's always always always been that way. remember the cookie comment? it was the same thing, that's how she talks, that's the way she is. and anyone who thinks he's not experienced enough doesn't think so because she said so. i didn't think it way before she said it. she didn't reinforce it for me, some days i think he is, some days i don't. she's just swatting at him. he's fine. mccain's going nowhere but down. but i don't see anything to say she doesn't care. the possibility always exists, but she's not doing him any damage.

I think Hillary supporters know what she is doing. Okay there are still a number of Hillary supporters who are baiting. But I think they don't reflect all the Hillary supporters. Maybe we should just all ease up on each.

Since I believe we all know what Clinton is doing, and though you may want your candidate to win with all your heart, I believe you will be strong enough to control things before they do get out of hand and starts to hurt our, and your own party.

That would be a lot more likely to happen than being comforted.

32. Are you actually saying and believing Hillary is running because she
wants "to give us less of a chance to win in November". I thought she wanted to be president! I thought you people said she's do anything because she want to be president. Make up your collective minds because I'm getting angrier and angrier at Obama supporters. My blood is starting to boil.

42. That's exactly what is being said.
Hillary wants to be president in 2012 by taking out Obama and giving her support to McCain.

Why would you be mad?

38. All I can do is let you know...
...that someone else across the pond is very disgusted, revolted, saddened
and sickened that a louse like Hillary Clinton is doing this.

She's working every angle, to make sure that if she's not the Dem nominee,
that no one can be.

It's like a two-year old having a temper tantrum--but on a much grander
scale which involves fucking with our democracy and turning our party
into a shell of its former self.

CNN talked about a recent poll, in which 20 percent of Democrats said they
would not vote for Hillary. You're not alone. Others are just as sickened.

It's a great interactive representation of how the delegate count will be unfold.
You can click on the arrows and slide L or R to estimate how you think the remaining primaries are going to play out.
How much damage will be done to the party base if the SD's undo the will of the people? A bunch!!
The young voters who've become active during this election cycle are particularly likely to stay home in November if the popular vote and delegate count are overruled by SD's.
IMHO

He says Jack Cafferty was calling her on her bullshit today and everyone on his panel agreed that it wasn't Obama's fault that MI and FL broke the rules.

84. Of course she has the right to
She has the right to drag this out kicking and screaming until the last dying moment, to set fire to the entire party in her quest to overturn the votes, to scar the presumptive nominee and provide the Republicans with dozens of talking points all on her own, and completely screw up what should have been a slam dunk election. Heck she may wind up actually disenfranchising the entire black and young voters blocs from Democrats for an entire generation just to pray her 1% chance comes in that she wins this thing.

She has as much right to do that as anyone.

OR she has the right not to. Which way does it seem she is going?

86. She is playing by the rules. You have a problem with that?
I would be VERY disappointed with Hillary if she were to quit before she has actually been defeated.

If it was the fourth quarter of the SuperBowl, and your team was behind by 13 points with only 1:17 on the clock, would you say the situation is hopeless, and order your team to leave the field before someone got hurt on a meaningless play?

Neither would Hillary. She'd play hard until the last second ticked off the clock.

Like Bill before her, she will fight until the last dog dies. That's just another reason she ought to be the next president.

and your team is up by 3 TDs, and the opponants are still blitzing and trying to take out your QB's knees so he'll be as injured as possible for the Super Bowl...

saying how McCain could be the Theodore Roosevelt of the 21st century. (I didn't catch which NPR program it was... but it was all about McCAin)

She isn't planning on running a GE campaign. She is just trying to sabatoge Obama at this point.

104. ABC NEWS - Democratic Civil War on the Web, Obama bots go full assault on dk
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/Story?id=4491667&page=1

The veneer has been torn off, and the brazen dishonesty is finally on display," a blogger named David Sirota wrote. "Why doesn't she just get the hell off the stage? Enough is enough!" a poster chimed in.

Added another: "These people and their $50 million in personal sleaze wealth, along with their using any segment of the electorate for power, must be thrown out of the party."

Was this a Republican Web site? A discussion group for conservatives?

It was one of the most influential blogs on the political left, Daily Kos, and the posters were liberals enraged at Hillary Clinton and her husband, the former president
