Obama is Related to Bush and Cheney, Seriously...

Thought everyone might appreciate a post on the lighter side!

SAMUEL HINCKLEY AND SARAH SOOLE
So far, no sign he's related to Hillary

It sure would be an awkward family reunion. But, believe it or not, Barack Obama is related to both President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

OK, distantly related: Obama and Bush are 11th cousins.

That's because they share the same great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandparents -- Samuel Hinckley and Sarah Soole Hinckley of 17th century Massachusetts.

That means Obama and former President George Herbert Walker Bush are 10th cousins once removed.

Obama is related to Cheney through Mareen Duvall, a 17th century immigrant from France... http://www.suntimes.com/news/politics/obama/familytree/545460,BSX-News-wotreea09.article

1. You do realize that the longer we populate the Earth...
...the more likely we're all going to end up as distant cousins to everyone else.

5. McCain and Laura Bush and Obama and Clinton
McCain’s antecedents are not as glamorous and diverse as Obama’s and Clinton’s. In fact,John McCain’s genealogy (for the time being) has only been traced to reveal two interesting people: one, to King William I “the Lion”, King of Scotland, who is McCain’s direct ancestor, and Laura Bush, wife of President George W. Bush, who happens to be a sixth cousin of Senator John McCain. (Click here for McCain’s pedigree chart).

In a world where political victories and losses are not as easily predicted as surveys are paraded and believed to be, looking at a candidate’s ancestry sometimes tells us who among the candidates is the strongest.

It is interesting to note that Obama and McCain share a common descent from King William of Scotland, and that Obama and Clinton are relatives by affinity because Obama’s cousin, Brad Pitt, married Angelina Jolie, the daughter of Jon Voight, Hillary’s cousin.

7. Obama and Brad Pitt are related....
October 30, 2007 (NEW YORK) (WLS) -- First Dick Cheney, now it appears Barack Obama is related to Brad Pitt.
The New York Post is reporting that Obama and Pitt share an eighth-great grandfather.
Pitt told the Post, "If it is true, I consider it great company."
The website Ancestry.com did the research for the Post.

9. and, shhhh, Obama and Bush are related....
Fox News on Wednesday also cited a report last month in the Chicago Sun-Times, which indicated Obama also had a distant genealogical connection to President Bush. The two are 11th cousins, according to the paper. http://rawstory.com/news/2007/FOX_Obama_related_to_Bush_Cheney_1017.html
