Obama's plan to visit other states during this time is genius!
Edited on Thu Mar-20-08 07:48 AM by adoraz
Yesterday Obama came here to NC, and a lot of people were excited. People are surprised he is already focusing on our state.

Today I get the newspaper, and the main front page story is "I Will End This War, Obama Tells NC Voters". That story won't be front page in any other state, but it doesn't need to be. Only 10 (?) places left matter at this point for the nomination, and getting here this early makes a huge difference I believe.

I just looked at Obama's schedule, and today he is in West Virginia and tomorrow in Oregon.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Clinton is spending most if not all her time in PA. That seems like a really bad decision to me. She really needs to go to these other states early and rally up the base if she truly wants to go on after Pennsylvania.

I know for a fact that NC voters appreciate Obama focusing on our state this early to the primary, and it could get people to decide earlier on him.

22. Me too!
The Clintons have been tap dancing all over my
area, and I'm tapped out on them.

Come to PA Barack!
We love you, and want you to come in
and convert all the naysayers...

You know you can.

Today Obama telephoned into the local
sports radio jocks.

These blue collar guys loved him!

4. Clinton is sticking with her "big states only" strategy, which has failed miserably so far
I'm glad that Obama is getting out to all the states. He has time to come back to PA several times over the next month.

12. LOL, okay sure
I don't know what kind of twisted logic that is, but whatever. His full blown speech yesterday completely addressed that controversy.

23. His "full blown speech" was full of little but hot air
Obama says he condemns the words of Wright, but still lets him get off the hook with a "occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy" description. That isn't how I'
How bout you, chief? Those the words of an "occasionally fierce critic" or an full-blown nutjob? This is the man to whom Obama listened to for 20 years.

As much as you'd like it to, this isn't going away, and no pretty speeches will make it go away.

6. Yes, Obama will be in Oregon
All of the tickets for Portland were snapped up in 40 minutes. My understanding is he is stopping in a few other places in the state as well. I would have gone and saw him again, but I am back in Korea again. Glad I saw him last September when I was home. I proudly wear my Obama pin everywhere I go, even in a foreign country.

9. I think it shows that he cares about all of the states and people in them. Clinton's
"big state" strategy is an insult to the rest of us out here who also want a voice and someone we feel will represent all of us, not just the people in the states that Clinton has determined "matter".

10. Yes, but Obama still needs to show here
I'm a Pennsylvanian, and I know Barack would make huge inroads into Clinton support if he shows up here a lot, walks into our older towns and neighborhoods, chats with folks like he is so adept at doing. PA is giant and very symbolic, and he can use every single percentage point he gets here. And I think he can get much more than expected if he pounds the pavement here many times before 4-22. I know he can't be cloned, and those other states are important, too, but spending TIME in pay will pay off. People want to see him tomorrow, whether or not they're in his camp today.

even when he has just a week in a place he makes a huge difference. Don't worry, he will show up and be there for a long time. :)

20. Thank you, adoraz!
One thing that I really love about this primary, and something that I think gets lost in all of our muckraking around here, is that it really is a 50 State Election. (Well, and Guam, Puerto Rico, Americans Abroad...)

I can't think of anything more democratic. And when Obama is our nominee, I think one of his strongest arguments is that more voters across the country chose to give their vote to him. More states, more voters, more representation.

Love to hear the great news out of North Carolina, too!
