My letter to NBC Today Show
Gentlemen:

I am a supporter of Senator Barack Obama. I have no role in his campaign. Rather, I am very impressed with his plans and proposals to help this country pull out of the deepening turmoil we are in presently.

I was disturbed at your continued use of the film segment from Rev. Wright this morning. It seems clear that you do not intend to engage in the serious discussion of race relations in this country. It further seems that you intend to continue a pattern of race-baiting and creation of a controversy where there is none. Since you have them, and since you seem to believe that Rev. Wright is running for President, why don’t you show clips of his positive, lifting oratory? Or some of the oratory from ministers at the churches Sen. Clinton or McCain frequent? Or show clips from scathing statements made by ministers who either openly support Senators Clinton and McCain or, even more importantly, video clips from those ministers whose political support was actively sought by these same senators? That would be closer to fair – but that underscores my point: Why in the world are excerpts from statements made by ministers relevant to a presidential campaign? That answer is easy – They aren’t.

Without an adequate explanation from you, please note that your network and its relatives MSNBC and CNBC will no longer be shown at my house or office. Further, once I acquire a list of your top 100 largest advertisers, I will contact them to notify them that, because of your failure to present news in a fair and reasonable manner, I will not purchase any products or services they sell.

Thank you,

I've had it with the MSM. And NBC is the worst.

8. I never watch Fox
If/as each or any of them decide to run the same tired clip in the context of "Oh noes," I will write them a similar letter. If I ban them all, so what? I'll save money on my cable bill. Except for sports.

7. In fact, why don't they make an entire segment about hate talk radio and
the hard feelings and divisions it has created in this country?

19. Instead, they actually run clips of Limbaugh trashing Obama, as if
he's a legitimate journalist or something. Way to increase his audience and message, MSM! The same librul "drive-by media" he lambastes every day are in bed with him.

24. They just don't seem to get it.
The DUer who akin'd criticism against Wright as a whipping, was spot on. It's like they're trying to knock him down a peg for being too uppity. That's only allowed in Republican white males, I guess.

10. Great letter
Except for the "Gentlemen" part. Are you a sexist or something? Kidding.

I don't have cable TV and I listen to alternative radio and NPR and I feel I'm happier for it.

Here are two great resources for progressive radio.

And then, there are always tunes available.

That's an excellent letter that states exactly what's going on with the m$$$m and your viewing take on it. The mediawhores did the same thing with Dean and then they Swiftboated Kerry.

And here we are again in 2008 and nothing's changed..they don't want change..Obama will have to win in spite of them. I know Obama's campaign has been trying to bypass them as much as they can.

The Democractic Party needs to get out and stand up for Obama...not the dlc 'cause they're the enemy but the DNC needs to stop being "neutral" when it comes to the mediawhores.

Edit~ Many of us sent this to the DNC last night to ask them to help..

14. I sent an email to CNN today.

Please put a stop to your swiftboating of Barack Obama with the constant repeated tape-looped coverage of Rev. Wright's statements. Obama is a good man who has repeatedly condemned the hurtful rhetoric from Rev. Wright, but you seem bound and determined to use your media influence to bury his campaign. I don't see you covering statements by John McCain's spiritual advisor Rod Parseley, nor do I see you mentioning the homophobic and hateful statements made by John Hagee. It's clear that your coverage is biased to reinforce the stereotype of the "angry black man" and to smear Obama with it until his electoral chances are destroyed.

You think your audience doesn't know what's happening? You think they can't tell when they're being manipulated? You're wrong.

I want CNN to provide news, not propaganda. I want fair coverage of current events, with a high standard of journalistic integrity. The reality is that you don't provide that - your coverage is nearly as bad as FOX News.

I will be contacting your advertisers. I will promise that as long as you continue to broadcast right wing propaganda instead of journalism, I will do everything I can to make sure there are financial consequences to your actions.
