Historical African American Vote
The Democratic Party has to be the biggest wimps there are. The voters of this party continually jump ship to the Republican Party over and over again. Voting against there own best interest in favor of a party that does nothing for them and cares nothing about them and favors big business. How can it be so easy to get people to vote against their own best interest (news flash) reach deep inside and pull out the one thing the Republicans know they could get Obama on, racism. It rears it's ugly again. Whenever economic times are bad the higher ups get this mess started by pitting people on the lower spectrum of the economic ladder to blame each other for their woes. It is easy because people have an inherent need to feel they are better than the next person. While they keep you fighting among st themselves the rich people continue to make more and more money.

African Americans have for as long as I have lived supported the Democratic Party. When Jesse Jackson ran, every racist on the planet surfaced to spew hate and in the end black people still voted Democratic, still stayed loyal to a party that really does not like them or support them. Even when white people were being peeled off by the thousands because of fear after 9/11 black people stayed strong and voted with the Dem's. My Grandfather and Uncles who fought in World War II and came home and could not even get a tooth pulled in California still voted Democratic because they believed it was a great party.

Now Jeremiah Wright. I want people to tell me what he said was racist. The man said America is run by rich white people. Is that not true? He said Hillary Clinton has never felt the pain of a black man. Is that not true? Name anything he said that was racist. Now the unpatriotic stuff. What he was saying and I believe the same thing is that you can not continue to kill people all over the world and think that God is going to bless you. I think God would have been on our side if we killed the people that struck us in 9/11 but we did not. We have killed or caused the death of over 800,000 people most of them women, children, and old people that had nothing to do with 9/11. Do you think you are going to be blessed for those deaths. These were real people just like us that died for no fault of their own. How can it be so easy for people to just brush aside these deaths?

For the white people that call into the talk shows saying they are scared of the black people in Rev. Wright's church. Black people don't hate you, black people don't want to kill you, as a matter of fact black people don't even think about you at all. We have so many problems of our own that we don't have time to do anything but care about where our next meal is coming from. What we do care about is the double standard that is in this country. I know many of you have associated for long periods of time with people that hate blacks but you didn't disassociate yourself from them. We all have character flaws but the way to change people is not to leave but to try and change their thinking. White people say Obama threw his Grandmother under the bus, well I can throw my Great Grandmother on my mother's side under the bus too, because until the day she died she would not acknowledge her black grandchildren or her black great grandchildren. She would speak all kinds of hatred to wards blacks to her son, like it didn't matter and as I questioned how my own grandma never called me as I got older, he told me why. How sad that she died with her prejudiced.

3. You're correct that Wright's social justice comments are true - but he slanted them so that
the truth that America is run by rich and corporate became "white people" (CEO that got $200 million going away gift on Wall Street last year was black - the category is "rich and corporate" - Wright made it "white")

17. So you believe that because ONE black man is a major CEO, this means that America is no longer run
by "rich white people?"

Are you one of those who think that having one black family on your block means your neightborhood is "integrated?"

If the President were black, the U.S. Senate were 99/100ths black, the House of Representatives was 90% black, 48 of 50 states were run by black governors, and 99% of the nation's major corporations had black CEOs and were controlled by a 90% black senior management, you would not believe that the country was run by "rich black people."

Hell, some people are in an outright, full-blown, spit-spewing panic at the thought that we might have a black president next year - even though the Senate, the House, the statehouses and corporate America would still be run by white folks - so I can imagine what the reaction would be if all of these institutions became overwhelmingly black.

4. Beating a dead horse.
It's too late to cover the pile of shit, either rely upon Obama to continue his approach to the problem or his Oompas trying to cover his ass. Better come up with a better plan, than Wright was telling truth. Evidently it was'nt the truth people want to hear or respond favorably to.

8. The truth hurts.
If Obama does not win the problem still needs to be tackled in a positive way. This country has a lot of demons that need to be expelled if we are to move forward. We have a lot of enemies and we can't just hate and kill people. While we are wasting our time, money and resources on wars and feeling the need to feel powerful the other nations are investing in their countries, educating their people to move forward into the next century so they will be economically powerful. That is how they will and are beating us. They don't have to drop bombs.

16. Pathetic
your argument is that Americans are too juvenile to handle the truth?????Lots of people have reason to be pissed of at the system, the system which is largely run by racist, sexist, pot smoker hating, rich white men. I am American, but I hate the system that criminalizes me for the weed I smoke on the weekends, for the weed my friends and family memebers smoke, grow and sell, and because I cannot have 65% of the jobs in the shithole country known as the USA because I have dirty piss. I have a fucking MA and I am not qualified to work at McDonalds because I smoke weed and hash on the weekends. My anger is justified. If I feel like saying "fuck the US of alcohol users A" I am justified. Perhaps my experience helps me to have empathy for other oppressed people. There are so many "unspoken truths" in the USA because of political correctness that it makes me sick. If you think anger is not justified GET YOUR FUCKING HEAD OUT OF THE SAND, OPEN YOUR EYES AND OPEN YOUR HEART, you know use that little used emotion (little used in the USA) called EMPATHY.

If you cannot find your empathy take pure MDMA one time to remind yourself of it and then keep using your EMPATHY in your daily life. The world will be a better place.

You represent the American left. You are light years behind the left in most EU member states. I still vote in the USA but it will evidently be a long long time before I ever live there again. Here in France drug tests violate our medical privacy. You do not piss in a cup to get a job, you go to a job interview. I can find work more easily here without speaking or wrinting perfect French than I can in the USA.

Grow up and listen to truths that make you uncomfortable, or keep on discriminating against blacks, pot smokers etc.

Think about it, how many people prevented their own children from finding jobs because they supported the cannabis prohibition which landed their kids in jail, or gave them a record, and now they cannot work. Your prejudice can easily bite your own kids in the ass. Your kids will probably hide their reefer use from you if you are anti reefer, but I used to deal in high school and my clients played on the school band, played football, baseball, were cheerleaders, were on the debate team etc. You would be amazed how many of your own kids are on the criminal side of the war on drugs you support because of your own prejudice. They too will likely become angry, and like Wright, their anger will be justified.

10. Blacks are tired of being called unpatriotic
We may show our patriotism differently than whites but we love this country. We don't feel compelled to fly flags or wear them on our lapels because that is all show. Love is in your heart. The true feelings are shown when you look at how we enlist in the service of this country. I am from a military family that has served in every war since I can remember and it is still not enough. The sad part is that we loved this country even when this country didn't love us and continue to do so and by the way, why is it that when you question ths country you are unpatriotic.

15. Black vote Republican
To be honest with you, I don't know? Some are not willing to give up on the party they are willing to stay within the party to fight for change, others are just tired of being used by the racist side of the party to acheive the goals they want for themselves with our help and once they get what they want as the pundits say "throw us under the bus". It is time for real good and honest people to stand up and help make the change within the party.

11. Blacks are the most loyal Democrats without question
Edited on Thu Mar-20-08 04:35 PM by Cali_Democrat
People like to call those "blue collar" folks in Ohio and PA real democrats. Bullshit. They'll run to the Republicans the minute they're scared by a middle eastern terrorist or scary black man.

:scared:

They're a bunch of pussies and the so-called Reagan Democrat traitors can go to hell if they vote Republican as far as I'm concerned.

Blacks have been loyal to the party through thick and thin. Thank god for them.

14. White people have been shaken to their cores
It is really funny to me. I have been saying for the longest that black people should snap out of this stupor of just handing their votes to Democrats without any real promise of anything. Black people's votes have traditionally been taken advantage of.

No more. Black people everywhere are pissed about this. I have never seen anything like it. This pissed off level regarding this election is higher than it has been for any other thing (that I can remember) in a long time. Every black person knows something about this and if you ask them who is behind it, they will tell you Hillary or Hillary and the Republicans. I have gotten so many email chain letters I can't even read all of them. I just can't see how she fixes this. It is broken. There are things in the works right now that are set to really make a statement to the Democratic party concerning this primary season. It's a shame it had to come to this.

I'll tell you this. Hillary's short-sidedness has failed her and time will show just how mistaken she was. If they really knew what Obama is really about she should have realized long ago that she had already lost...and in return, the Democratic party has lost.

We have been shown that people will vote against their own best interests, starve each other, validate Imperialism around the world even if they don't subscribe to this ideology, simply out of primitive racist beliefs they hold. People deserve what they get from John McCain. Hillary Clinton does not have a chance in hell of winning the GE. She just doesn't and she never did.

These racist scumbags living paycheck to paycheck will get just what they deserve in the coming years. It won't be pretty, but perhaps this lesson will ultimately be good for the country. A day of reckoning is upon us.

18. The awakening of blacks to the real Democratic Party
Black people are listening and talking. I live in a middle class neighborhood where white people more than black people that live here(I know some will not believe this, but it's true)are losing their homes left and right because of the policies of George Bush. These same people are Republican and Democrat's that vote with the Republican's because of the war. They are trading in boats, suv's, their wives are going to work for the first time in their lives and they would rather sink with the ship than vote for an African American. Black people are watching this and saying, "Damn they must really hate us if they are willing to lose everything they have just to keep a black man out of office".I think a lot of black people are saying, be careful what you ask for you just may get it. Meaning John McCain.

21. It is shocking to the conscious!

I don't mean to laugh, but my goodness! The hate runs deep in this country not only for its own citizens, but for poor, oppressed people around the world. If they didn't think it would come back to bite them in the ass (loosing their SUVs, Boats, Homes, Jobs) then I don't know what they really thought. I mean, who has DESTROYED the economy of this country and who has STOOD BY and allowed them to do so? Who took us into this 3 Trillion dollar war with FALSE information and who has ALLOWED them to do so, without ANY consequence?

:puke:

People still don't know who their real enemies are.
