There is a fair solution to both Florida and MIchigan
The original penalty, and the one the GOP dished out, was for the state to lose 1/2 of its elected delegates and all of its superdelegates. That is what should happen now. I would prefer a revote but that isn't going to happen. So now the states should get punished alot but not totally disenfranchised. Obama will need Michigan and might need Florida in the general election. He won't get them if it is thought he disenfranchised them in the primaries.

1. Sounds like the perfect solution to me, but how do you allocate Michigan with no revote?
I don't think it's an option to just give him the uncomitteds. The uncommitteds are free to vote for whomever they want.

2. True...but realistically, they'll likely go for Obama
after all, those people already had a chance to vote for Hillary and chose not to do so.

4. He should get the uncommitteds if at all possible
I would think most would since she was on the ballot and thus they presumedly would have been on her slate had they been for her.

12. It is not legal under Michigan law to allocate elected delegates to someone else.

13. Michigan law has no power over the DNC, and those delegates can be reassigned at the convention.

15. You are wrong. As long as a party uses the state apparatus to conduct elections

They have to comply with the law. A Michigan voter could sue the DNC if previous elected delegates were allocated to someone else.

3. Hillary is out pushing hard the notion that
it's Obama's fault. I hope that the public is smarter than that.

it is his fault
the legislators backing him refused to vote for it. That would make it his fault.

14. I'll use the same argument that HillShills used in the Nevada

lawsuit flap.

Wouldn't that make it THEIR fault? They are the elected representatives of their home districts, not Obama. It's not his fault. You want the re-vote to happen, first make the rules the same as the FIRST vote (don't disenfranchise independents and those that voted in the Republican primary). And then convince the state legislators that they need to vote for it.

It's not Obama's fault. He didn't move the primary forward. He followed the agreement and removed his name from the ballot (just as John Edwards and many other Dem candidates did).

5. As long as it is not made official until all the primaries are over
I think this solution is fine in general. But if this was decided now, it would influence the status of the race, and that is not something I think the DNC would allow. Once every pledged delegate has been allocated including 50% of the FL and MI delegations or having them with half a vote like Democrats Abroad, Virgin Islands etc would no longer be able to impact the race. At that point I think the 50% pledged 0% superdelegate solution is fair.

9. Except HRC WON'T accept that ...
That was one of the first solutions proposed but it died before anyone could
accuse HRC of being stubborn or uncompromising or ... un-American.

11. It died because it is not legal under Michigan state law.
You just can't "give" elected delegates to someone.
