Let me put it to you a different way. What if Barack Obama is not — does not win the Democratic nomination, or he does win it, and loses in the presidential race against John McCain? Is black America going to throw their hands up and say, ‘Man, you know, I thought we were getting somewhere in this country, but this is just a bunch of racial bigots in this country and they still hate blacks and, I mean, if Barack Obama can’t get elected, then we’re never gonna have anybody that’s a black that’s gonna be elected president.’ And will there be riots in the streets? I think the answer to that is yes and yes."

The Walker Report determined that the violence in Chicago in 1968 was a police riot. (see below).
Comparisons are valid in that Humphrey did not even run in the primaries and got the nomination, while the combined forces of RFK and McCarthy were shut out.
The notion that Obama supporters would riot is absurd.

On Chicago 1968 from Time magazine:

During most of the traumatic week of the convention, a Los Angeles police inspector who was present as an observer thought that "the restraint of the police, both as individual members and as an organization, was beyond reason." What do you expect from Fox News, though? This is a news channel that has Mark Furhman as a revolving guest on its show who said that black gang bangers "get a box of KFC" after they commit crime.

Black people will not riot if Barack Obama does not get the nomination, but I will tell you that a lot of black voters have gotten a very clear look at the lengths that certain members of the Democratic Party will go to to insult us. These primaries were a lot more fun when the candidates debated the issues rather than throwing black voters, the black church, and one of the most respected members of the black clergy under the bus. We were able to get a very clear look at the Clinton's and their filth, and just by reading this board, an eye-opening perspective on the views of other Democratic (so-called Progressives) Party members with respect to the black community.

We have listened to Bill Clinton relegate Barack Obama's win in South Carolina to Jesse Jackson's Presidential Run (totally neglecting that he won Iowa and a host of other Midwestern states that aren't comprised of a majority percentage of black voters).

We have listened to Geraldine Ferraro suggest that Barack Obama is only winning because he has some sort of advantage because he is black and that the country is "caught up in the concept." Imagine that -- being relegated to a concept?

We have seen a man that has served his country in two branches of the military and as a member of the clergy demonized in the media.

... and a host of other things that we have been silent about but have noticed (shuck and jive comments, empty suit comments, etc.).

We won't riot. We'll just take our voting bloc elsewhere and deal a permanent deathblow to the Democratic Party (one that we've given blind support to for years).
