Isn't it odd that the Bush Administration let the Passport Breach info out?
It reflects negatively upon them (goes right up to Condaleeza) and they usually don't go running around telling people the bad stuff they do, they would try to keep it undercover until someone else dug it up. It seems as though they let this one come out because it would help their cause somehow - maybe by casting doubt on the Clinton campaign (as we're witnessing here) or they know who and why the person snooped. Can anyone else imagine the Bush Administration not trying to cover this info up? There's something more fishy going on than we think, in my opinion.

6. Most likely by talking to one of the contractors who snooped. Whoever they worked for
Is going to be exposed. If it's Clinton, she is done.

15. Conason was the reporter? Do you have a link. I hadn't read that we knew who
the reporter was that contacted the State Dept.

8. At this point, we don't know who...
Edited on Fri Mar-21-08 08:42 AM by TwoSparkles
...blew the whistle do we? For all we know, it was one of the first two "snoopers" who
were fired, or maybe even the third one who was "disciplined."

I'm still learning more about this story, and someone correct me if I'm wrong--but the chain
of management is in trouble for not reporting this up, and sitting on the story. They're
in trouble.

So, you're right, in the sense that the story wasn't revealed by the proper channels in the State Dept.
They were still covering it up.

Still many unanswered questions.

I agree with you that this is suspicious. I'm an Obama supporter and I don't put anything
past our government, including setting up people for downfalls.

I guess we wait for the facts to come out.

10. No way it was Hillary's fault

Think of all the fun the Rethugs would have had exposing her!

But seriously, folks, this is vintage Bush monarchy: Nobody gets caught, nobody gets fired, nobody gets investigated. Three different people (from the came contractor?) all just happen to be starstruck enough by Obama to try to look at his passport file, and management doesn't think it's a big deal? Of course. Sounds like an opposition research black-op to me.

17. Since State Department has established rules about access,
I don't see how much blame actually attaches to the Secretary of State. The Sec. took action as soon as the incident was revealed. Look at the recent stories about unauthorized access to George Clooney's and Britany Spears' hospital records. There is always temptation to look at celebs files.
