Gov. Richardson: it is time for democrats to stop fighting against each other

and to concentrate on the tough fight against McCain in the Fall.

K&R if you think the time has come to unite to defeat the republicans and take back the white house.

I did a double take at my tv screen.

8. Yes, but Gov. Richardson is a staunch friend and admirer of the Clintons

He is asking to move beyond persons and concentrate on the big fight to take the country back.

21. both needs to happen...
...to unify and focus on McBush in the fall.

Until we have one nominee to rally behind, the divisiveness will continue. Seems now our next best hope is after the last primary (June 3 I think); the SuperD's will quickly move to support the delegate/popular voter leader.

Of course, my hope & expectation is that person will be Barack. :)

4. So true. Other prominent Dems need to speak that reality too.
Tell Hillary, it's time to unite behind Obama. Now.

7. I think they sent Richardson out to send the message. Others will soon follow, but
hopefully she'll do one thing dignified in her campaign. Without arm twisting.

6. Perhaps if he feels that way, he should not have chosen sides at this stage.
It doesn't really speak much for his message - makes it sound phony.

20. You've got to intervene to stop a fight.
I think he did the right thing. The others that will be coming out over the next few days will be doing the same.

It doesn't stop because Richardson "says."

37. Yeah, Bill Richardson thinks the Great Lakes are "awash in water"
and that they can send some down to New Mexico (to water the golf courses they are building on the desert, I guess). As soon as he said that, he lost me. It speaks nothing for his judgement.

For him to now tell me that I need to rally behind his candidate, well, it's just another slap in the face from someone I lost respect for back in January.

34. Why aren't the voters in PA and elsewhere permitted to make the
decision, in such a close race?

I think he's entitled to support whoever he feels is the better candidate, but his reasoning is very undemocratic.

Hell BR, obama was the only one that could play the race card cause folks are stupid and think a black man cannot race bait nor play the race card to his benefit. Hell BR, obama who you support is the one that started this crap so that dem would be fighting dem....

Then again I guess if you are wanting to be his vp or be high in the cabinet, then I guess you will stoop and kiss ass with the best of em..... such a shame.....

25. Yes yes
What I want to see in this forum are plans and ideas we can use against McCain.

I think his weakest point is his support of the war. We can use the DOD stats to show that our military is broken--then ask folks how they think McCain will be able to find troops to continue the war, and where the money will come to pay for it.
