Does Richardson have insight into the backroom super delegate murmur?
I am VERY excited about Bill Richardson's endorsement of Obama today.

It is a clear sign that the Obama campaign is NOT IN TROUBLE.

After his moving endorsement speech today, few Democrats should question Obama's viability and November chances.

A big WOOT!!! for Bill Richardson

1. Of course he does. And this is a signal, a message from inside the party to Hillary.. this is
our nominee, step aside gracefully. Its time to stop fighting each other and fight McCain.

For Hillary, its all over but the shoutin.

2. I think so. And it could get bigger.
I've now seen over a dozen very interesting faxes: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5193169

It's exciting. There's a real power-play going on right now.

3. I think it's a silent nudge to the Clinton campaign that she needs to
step down and that potentially too, the Superdelegates are lining up behind Obama. People like Pelosi have expressed this feeling as well, now Richardson is too. Obama is ending a bad week on a high note!!

5. I posted a few weeks ago that McClatchy had surveyed the remaining superdelegates
and it was impossible for Hillary to win. But they had decided to hold that story in case Obama collapsed and their survey didn't hold up.

They have known the math was impossible for HRC and her campaign has known about the McClatchy survey for some time, now, too.

Everything they do now is truly meant to hurt Obama.

6. It is time Hillary, It is time. Take that extra large baggage and
go back in the Senate. You are needed there, not so much on a campaign trail.

Bill Richardson has raised my esteem of him by 100%. Not that I didn't think highly of him before, but now I realize that he is not so much a calculating party man wearing a Clinton Flag pin under his lapel.

8. I don't think so. I think the endorsement is purely Richardson's attempt
to help Obama after all the pastor-gate press.

Obama made a big impression on BR when he helped him during the debate. I think he resented the treatment of Obama and hoped he could help.

Just my impression, of course.

10. I don't think he would do that if he didn't have lots of fellows with him.
Because of his long-standing and close ties with the Clintons. Although I believe Bill is genuine, he is such a party insider I can't imagine him making this decision lightly. That said, I can see how perhaps the recent treatment of Senator Obama might have been the last straw and explains the timing. But this is only my mostly-ignorant opinion and speculation.

I DO know that I'm ecstatic about this endorsement and I can't wait to see what happens next. I'm very proud of Bill and happy for Sen. Obama.

12. He's been issuing warnings
Since even before he dropped out of the race. He wanted the negative campaigning to stop. I think his limit was reached.

13. I don't think Bill Richardson needs other people to support his decisions.

Obama threw him a lifeline during a debate. I think he likes Obama and he's returning the gesture.

16. By Obama? Doesn't make sense. If BO was going to offer VP to someone, it would be Edwards
Edwards carried a larger percentage of voters.

15. His endorsement came when HRC advierser were using Wright on the Superdelegates...
The timing is such that it makes me wonder: Did Richardson finally decide to endorse Obama, and do it when he did, because of Hillary's typical backroom slimey dealing?
