Clinton Needs To Drop out and Focus on Keeping Her Seat in the Senate.
She is in danger of losing all her political credibility. The African American community will not be voting for her next time around , nor will moderate dems that are so offended by her repugnant campaign tactics. I guess she can hope her new found repug friends will switch their affiliation to vote for her. Scary times for Hillary in the future. She gambled by disenfanchising the African American community, they will not soon forget the slight.

9. Glad to know I'm not a "real democrat"
I don't necessarily agree with the OP, but I'm no supporter of Sen. Clinton, either.

Still, it's good to know that my 10 years of union organizing, flawless democratic voting record, and three generations of progressive politics that have lost my grandfather, mother, and me all jobs (mostly for "trouble-making") are no match for my non-support of Sen. Clinton.

Good to know.

Yeesh...

14. I didn't say you had to support Clinton
to be a real Democrat.

I said that a real Democrat would see past the bullshit of the OP.

If you don't --then I'd say you are not a real Democrat.

Support who you wish. Obama is a fine candidate --all of our Democratic candidates have been fine.

But the OP is a bullshit spew.

8. That's ludicrous.
Illinois loves Obama, and he has massive in-state popularity.

But go ahead. Keep making things up. Something will stick.

I don't know anyone that's a big fan of hers. I'm hoping a true liberal Democrat will step up in 2012 to try and get rid of her and her Rovian tactics.

6. If Clinton drops out and Obama is the nominee,
say hello to president McCain because
Obama gambled and disenfranchised the
White community. Which is a larger voting
populous than the African-American community.
I personally will vote the Dem ticket
regardless of the nominee but, many do
not feel that way.

11. I love this framing.
"Give us our nominee or we'll take our white asses home!"

Doesn't work like that. And if disaffected Hillary folks blow it, then it was disaffected Hillary folks that were the problem. Not Obama.

17. Same as "give us our nominee or we'll take
our black asses home" like the OP
framed it, yet you have no problem
with that because it favors Obama.
Frame in O's favor = GOOD
Frame in H's favor = BAD
Got it, had to put on my O-shades and
drink some kool-aid but, no worries,
I got it now.

33. I was actually referencing the polls
That have been going around saying that Clinton supporters are much less likely to support Obama than Obama supporters are to support Clinton in the general. It's almost 2 to 1. Obama supporters are the real Democratic party supporters.

But you do realize that you're just making things worse, right? The koolaid remarks aren't moving anybody to Clinton.

37. Making things worse?
Look around you...I, by far,
am not the first or the only
one. As far as that goes, being
that the Obama supporters outnumber
the Hillary supporters here by a
margin of 4-5:1, you could say that
by default, more Obama supporters
are the ones making things worse.

I'd rather concentrate on strengthening Obama than tearing down Hillary--the stronger he is the easier a time he will have on the two-front battle he's fighting right now.

27. The election isn't until 2012. Unsurprisingly, no opponents have yet declared.
Assuming she isn't President and runs for re-election to the Senate, I wouldn't be surprised if she had no significant Republican opposition. In 2006, when she had the advantage of only term's incumbency (and residency) here, the best they could do was a former Mayor of Yonkers, who not only admitted to an adulterous affair but had put his paramour on the city payroll.

The Republican Party in New York is having major problems. My guess is that the field of Republicans willing to take on Clinton will be even weaker than it was in 2006.

She might have more to worry about from the Democrats. If President McCain is still defending our ongoing occupation of Iraq as it enters its tenth year, and if Clinton is still going along with it, she will again face an antiwar opponent in the primary. In 2006 she won her primary easily against an antiwar union activist with no name recognition and virtually no money (). In 2012, if the war is continuing, she won't again get away with ignoring her opponent and refusing to debate.

Either way (Democratic primary or general election), the OP is wrong. Resentment of her 2008 campaign tactics will not be a significant factor in 2012.

38. I wonder if she could run for NY governor instead...
Perhaps as part of a "deal" for her stepping down, the party would jump to the forefront of trying to get her to run to take over for Spitzer instead. That way, perhaps it would clear the way for RFK, Junior to endorse Obama, so that he still feels he could take over her Senate seat if she were to win the governorship, which is likely why he endorsed her to begin with (so that seat would be come "open" if she were to become president).
