4. San Juan Harbor closed for first time since 1991 "Perfect Storm"
No ships can get in or out. 30-35 foot waves crashing in front of El Morro fort. I'm stuck in my hotel last 3 days because we can't get offshore to do our oceanography surveys. Nothing like getting paid for doing nothing.

Bartender, another Mojito please....

5. South central Minnesota; 3-6" forecast, but we don't look to be getting
anything near that much. We got about half an inch overnight, and then it turned to rain, and now it's stopped, so it doesn't seem to be amounting to much.

6. Am currently in West Virginia -
sunny and temps in the 40's. So sorry to hear about snow there! You must be sick of it but it's still better than what's going on in Missouri! Hope your elec. stays on - that's the first thing to go here if a squirrel runs across a power line.

7. Not bad here in Anchorage...
Probably mid-30s, partly cloudy. The other side of the mountains and Portage Valley have gotten three feet of snow in the past couple of days, though. Skiing at Alyeska is supposedly fantastic, but avalanche danger in the back country is high.

11. I went to visit Portage Glacier a few times in mid-1980s
when I was working up there. From the photo's I've seen recently, the Glacier does not appear visible anymore from the visitor's center. Nice place, sorry to see it melting away for you guys.

21. Yeah, it's quite a ways back from where it used to be
when I first came up here in 1972. You can still see it from the road right outside the tunnel to Whittier, but I remember when the terminus used to be out in the middle of the lake. It's sad so many of the glaciers up here are receding. There are still a lot of them, of course, but the change from 30 years ago can't be denied.

19. Weather in the South depends
on if one is in the northern or southern part of the state in La, Miss, Ala. and Ga.
I am in Ala. 90 miles due north of Pensacola....sunny, 60's, nights are high 30's to low 40's, daffodils are waning, redbud is in full bloom, dogwood and wisteria coming into bloom. It's warm and beautiful and perfect for Easter week.
:-)

Doesn't seem to be sticking much, but I have to head out in a minute - we'll see if the roads are iced over.
