And a fine speech too. Notwithstanding the rally atmosphere, Richardson also took on difficult and important subjects, challenging his audience to consider deep problems and work to solve them.

We haven't had national figures debating race so frankly and thoughtfully in recent years except after national tragedies like race riots or disasters like Katrina.

10. The few times I heard Richardson speak, I was impressed by his style

He seems to truly be at home in his own skin, and to be enjoying himself on the
stump (reminding me of Bill Clinton at times). I could go for an Obama/Richardson
ticket (his addition would bring gravitas and international experience).
