How much will Bill Richardson's endorsement help Obama with the Latino vote?
Could it be just a few points in select regions, or will it translate to a larger shift across the country?

It may not make a big difference in the remaining primary contests, but it could make a huge difference if we are looking (hypothetically of course) at an Obama/Richardson ticket this fall.

My biggest hope from Richardson's endorsement today is it adds motivation to Super Delegate's considering going public with their Obama support as well.

peace~:)

1. NOT AT ALL. Our very popular Gov. Napolitano pulled out all the stops
for Obama and Arizona went overwhelmingly for Hillary. Raul Grialja(Sp) switched to O from Edwards before Super Tues and it still didn't help. The Hispanic voters are loyal to the Clintons.

2. It certainly can't hurt -- he can cut ads and campaign in Spanish ...
Very important when she has people like Antonio Villaraigosa and others out there for her.

Hey, I heard that Chris Dodd was in the Peace Corps and actually speaks Spanish as well as
(if not better than) Richardson -- the two of them ought to hit the road throughout the
southwest for Obama! ("The 'Si Se Puede' Tour"!!)

3. Excellent Question
I can't see it hurting that is for sure. I really like Richardson. Bad news for my team.

4. Its greatest impact will be 3 fold
1) It will have an impact on superdelegates

2) It will drive Bill Clinton crazy and he will start making stupid statements including today

3) It will energize Obama supporters in Puerto Rico.

5. I think in the GE it could be really strong
Arizona is going to be McCain's stronghold, but if we can mobilize southeast California (with enough Hispanic voters to swing those counties IF they vote), New Mexico, Nevada, and all the Hispanic voters in Texas... I can see taking the fight to McCain's front door.

Si se puede!

6. Which Latino vote? Like America it is diverse, not monolithic, and there is no typical Latino/a.

7. Fair question - but we do see trends with specific groups.
But I suppose in an ideal world, we would not need to even ask.

8. Before it can help
Latinos will have to be informed that Richardson is Latino. I don't think many people are aware of that. lol
