An analogy to the the pro-Hillary spin on her Bosnia lie.
I live in Minneapolis. I've gone to a few bars and strip clubs here in some of the rougher parts of town where some shootings have happened in the past. Therefore these places now require that you pass through a metal detector in order to enter.

Let's say that I claimed I once witnessed a gang shooting in a bar. Then someone who was with me the night I claimed it happened comes forward and says it never happened. This is backed up by security camera footage. So I change my story. I didn't actually witness such a shooting, but I went to an institution that night where such events have happened before, and I was forced to go through strong security and precautions to enter because of the danger. So maybe my story isn't 100% accurate, but the basis of it is.

Did I lie or simply "exaggerate"?

1. You obviously changed your story from a lie to an exaggeration.
Apt analogy.

2. It'd be a lie. What's more significant is what motivates such falsehoods.

We've had far too many years of blatant, egregious lies. Far too many. People who lie like that in military service (to get a medal?) can be dishonorably discharged.

More than what OTHERS might think of me for lying ... it'd make me look bad in MY OWN eyes. I'd be ashamed.

3. Does it matter?

Lie or exaggerating while telling a 'tale' to your buddies over a beer is quite different than using the lie/exaggeration as an example of why you are more qualified than your opponent to be President of the USA.

I think you lied. And when you were caught with contradictory evidence, you tried to spin it as just an exaggeration.

8. Yeah, that's my point
"I think you lied. And when you were caught with contradictory evidence, you tried to spin it as just an exaggeration."

Which is exactly what Hillary's supporters are trying to do now."

Sure my lie in this hypothetical isn't nowhere near as important as Hillary's, but the point is it's still a lie.

9. No, my point is that it IS a lie
Just like Hillary's statement about her Bosnia trip was a lie.

7. It's a Lie and It Reveals How Weak Her Character Is
I'm tired of the BS. I want a President who doesn't act like she does or McCain does.

the "greeting ceremony" into your analogy as well.

15. The "ceremony"
is rich.

It is more than a lie - it is a bold face lie.
