Showing transparency, Obama releases papers

—David Jackson and John McCormick
8:29 AM CDT, March 23, 2008

Sen. Barack Obama's campaign released a new set of documents Saturday in its ongoing effort to paint the Illinois Democrat as more open and transparent in his dealings than Sen. Hillary Clinton.

The documents included the finance committee for his 2004 U.S. Senate bid. That list included Antoin "Tony" Rezko, a longtime friend and fundraiser now standing trial in Chicago on federal corruption charges, as well as Rezko's wife, Rita.

We are still waiting on Hillary’s tax returns, pardons, library donors.

5. Why? It's a fact. He's making an effort to appear more open and transparent.
There's nothing wrong with that. It's a fact. If they said he actually was more open and transparent, then that would be evidence of bias.

4. As someone with journalism experience, that is fine.
It's an ongoing effort to paint. If they said Obama released documents showing that he is more open and transparent than Hillary, that would be biased. Obama is attempting to paint himself as more open and transparent. Saying that is fact, not biased conjecture.
