*Whew* A long drive, sure - almost crashed over Raton Pass on a surprisingly foggy day in the mountains (it was clear between Santa Fe and Raton and past Raton to Trinidad), and almost ran out of gas. I decided to go over 200 miles on a half a tank of gas from Santa Fe to Trinidad, CO - spent $10 for 2.9 gallons at $3.39 in Trinidad, CO, which was very very expensive for Colorado - just as expensive in Raton, NM too. Almost ran out of gas on the 94 mile drive from Trinidad to Pueblo, which cost us $3.05 a gallon - tanked up fully. The rest of the drive went fine back home to Denver.
I was excited to get the feel of New Mexicans on Bill Richardson's endorsement of Obama, and boy was I *NOT* disappointed. The majority of the people I have met during my brief stay were very excited about the endorsement, because they seem to feel that Obama will pick Richardson as his VP - and I think it's a great choice if Obama does indeed do that. Richardson certainly has the creds for foreign policy where Obama lacks, and will help him along the way.
The rest didn't care or was apolitical. So, to put it mildly, Albuqerque and Santa Fe were thrilled, and the folks in the Indian casinos gambling didn't give a shit, but some of the table dealers were excited too.
So in summary, how the hell do you find a pai-gow table in any of the Indian casino - I only found one in Sandia - $15 a bet, a little expensive, but I was able to walk away with a $10 profit. Casino Hollywood (San Felipe) used to have one... and I found nothing in Pojaque Pueblo (Cities of Gold). I didn't check Camel Rock because I didn't really like the place too much (Tesuque).
Next time I head there, I'm going to check out Santa Ana Pueblo and Acoma Pueblo.... and maybe the Isleta Pueblo.. I know Santa Ana Star Casino has Pai-Gow...
Hawkeye-X (A little bummed that he lost $90 playing blackjack and texas hold'em)
