Voice of Doom for Dems
Obama's minister turned the Dems' run for President into party's train wreck
Sunday, March 23rd 2008, 4:00 AM

Wambsgans/AP

Rev. Jeremiah Wright
Despite their frantic efforts to one-up each other on issues large and small, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama could soon find themselves sharing the same unhappy burden: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Unless one of them can find the courage and the sense to forcefully denounce the black pastor, Clinton and Obama both could end up watching John McCain get elected President.

Midway through the second week of the Wright fiasco, and five days after Obama tried to cool the boiling issue with an important speech on race, it is increasingly clear we are witnessing a Democratic train wreck. For months, the collision has been unfolding in slow motion as the closely fought campaign worked its way across the country and the chances for a clear winner slipped away one state at a time.

Suddenly, the wreck is happening at full speed. The dream team is looking like a nightmare.

Race was always a touchy subject, but not the dominant one, at least on the surface. Now there is no other issue.

With only 10 contests left, the campaign is turning on Wright's outlandish anti-American statements and Obama's tepid reaction to them. Obama seems flummoxed by the complexities of the racial polarization he promised to heal and the party is being divided in a way that could

13. Then why don't you post something thoughtful and balanced?
Attack threads (against either candidate are going to foster "all this negative crap".

...but I suspect you already knew that...

know these kinds of things any more than someone who watches baseball tv. There are those that know the stats and so many more that could care less what someones batting average is.

The other aspect is, as a generalization, the only people that post this kind of henny penny the sky is falling blame this guy thesis are generally Ms Clintons supporters.

With that said, please tell me was if I right, are you a Ms Clinton supporter.

I do not begrudge you the support of your candidate, But I do begrudge you attacking the Democratic party to that end.

Sorry, I'm sick of addressing all of these soft points Clinton has in the general separately.

If Obama has to deal with what his preacher said (and, out of context, I might add) I'm fine with that.

7. All of which have been prepped by the repubs
since day one.

I think the HRC campaign has become something that the party should turn off now.
Indeed, it should have the day of the McCain experience remark.

As I said, you're welcome to Clinton's skeletons....I'm comfortable with Obama's.

31. Keep telling yourself that...you really think they won't use anything and everything they can?
If, as you seem to assume, your candidate has no new skeletons to unearth, do you really think they'll just leave her alone?

She'll have to answer for every one of them...

In Spring 1999, I became a journalist the same week that I realized the Associated Press release on "MTBE (gas additiv is categorically denied as being harmfuL"

If the AP is saying it, it is probably false. To see what I mean, visit my blog

20. The campaign iniated by FOX has been effective
and dutifully picked up by the mainstream media. Of course, they can have all the white bigot preachers endorse candidates and candidates accept the endorsements, but you won't see the character assassination you will with what is being done with Obama. He must denounce the influencial church of Chicago he belongs to in order to satisfy the hypocrisy of America's bigot class seems to be the theme. That's my take. Hope that gives a different perspective.

The transcript had been available for about a year without any traction.

That's why they can't be denounced.

Yet another Republican editorial "journalist" who demands that the populace be outraged whenever somebody steps outside their official "Code of Conduct" of kissing the pope's slippers.
