So You Don't Think You're A Typical White Person? Well, Mass Marketing Knows You're Wrong
First of all, Obama's grandmother would make his statement apply to typical white women over the age of 75. White women who grew up largely segregated. But since Hillary supporters and Republicans can't do nuance-

If you think there's no such a thing as a typical white person, I got news for you, Madison Avenue advertising executives know better.

They test market products and come up with ads because they know better.

They know what the typical white person will buy and they know WHY the typical white person buys it.

They also know what the typical black person will buy and why the typical black person buys it.

If there weren't such a thing as a typical white OR black person, mass marketing wouldn't work.

And it does work. That's why corporations pay millions for marketing/advertising campaigns.

And that's also and why race baiting works.

It's called Mass Psychology.

And so true! And I'm so guilty!

Now excuse me while I drive my Prius to the farmers' market while sipping on my gourmet coffee.

2. We're really not very good at talking about "race".
We don't know how to do it and we're afraid to try, inho.

It's such a relief to hear someone not be afraid.

I bet you my Safeway Club card this will be good for us.

:)

13. I sort of disagree. The context he was describing
was one of segregation. Are you old enough to remember that?

It's not news that people fear what they don't know. And that's what is was like during that time.

16. He didn't say the word 'racist' in the quote. Why did you even bring the word racist up?
Do you even KNOW what the full quote is?

8. Maybe That's Why I Buy So Few Mass-Marketed Products
Their mass-marketing makes me want to :puke:.
It also makes me want to avoid their products like the plague.

I presume that if I were a "typical white person", I would react by rushing down to the mall.:eyes:

17. There is Guerilla Marketing though. And stuff you find out about that seems counter-culture may
end up being the boutique front for a mega-corporation who does astroturfing.

Corporations KNOW people like us exist- so they've adapted.
