Ok, tell me they aren't the Clinton News Network
Headline on CNN just now. "Back to work-Clinton and McCain campaigning", Next story, replaying again a Clinton speech on the Economy. Only mention of Obama this morning? Pastor Wright, again.

2. Obama's on the beach in the Virgin Islands
sipping pina coladas and staying as far away from Reverand Wright as he can. That's why there's nothing to report.

3. It's all good
not even CNN can pull this out for her. Give it time and try not to sweat it, these things come and go for both candidates. :)

4. I flipped it on for 2 minutes yesterday.. first thing I heard was a panel discussion on
yes, Wright and the liberal left who thinks its OK to hate america.

Turned it off and haven't turned on CNN or MSNBC again. Its better not to have the media filter in my brain !

5. What's the tie-in, do you think?
I can understand (but hate) that CNN is a for-profit company as opposed to a News organization, and that they'd want to keep their ratings up. So why not cover both candidates equally since they both have such large followings? Plus, Obama has WAY more money to spend on buying air time...

What's the connection to Clinton -- any idea?

8. Could be
Since the owners of most of the MSM republicans, they want a Hillary vs McCain race. It's a win win for them. Even if Hillary did pull it off, win the nomination, and then the whitehouse, she is all for outsourcing, corporate welfare, and keeping D.C. just as it is.

16. OT --
Did you see the Seattle Times this morning? (I don't know where you are in WA). They listed the names of all 4,000 who have been killed in Iraq. I wrote them a message thanking them.

Bushes and Clintons who have proven they will protect the global interests of the kingdom. House of Saud and House of Bush - Bill Clinton is a most loyal knight.

18. You know,
a couple of years ago I'd be rolling my eyes so far back in my head I'd have fallen out of my chair.

What I've learned in the interim -- not just about the Clintons but about who REALLY runs the world -- makes me give credence to your statement.

19. I think it's the same as with political cartoonists.
Edited on Mon Mar-24-08 11:33 AM by Tesha
In a time of peace and quiet prosperity, the political cartoonist
starves. By comparison, if the excrement is hitting the ventilator
and the whole world is crashing down around our ears, that means
that there's *LOTS* to draw cartoons about.

Who would you rather have in office to doodle about: A Clinton
or, say, Albert Schweitzer?

It's the same for the "news" networks. Good news is snooze news
but with a Clinton in office, heck, the reporters would never
have to do any actual work ever again! Every day, they'd get
the daily scandal tip-sheet (most of it made up, but who cares!)
faxed to them from RNC headquarters.

17. Hillary refuses to go on when asked though
Anderson Cooper said they called Hillary to offer her the same coverage they gave Obama on his show last week and she never returned it. I don't get how that can do anything but benefit her.

The only difference between our tv and the telescreens of "1984" is that our tv's don't look back.

14. Well, I'm a DUer and I've been watching CNN since, I don't know 1990?
And Hillary was given plenty of free face time in the run up to this election. When there were 7 candidates all you ever heard was Hillary, Hillary, Hillary. The evidence has been clear before my eyes.

26. Clinton is the news right now...
...because she's losing the primary. So the attention is on her, on whether or not she'll give up the fight. No, they may not mention this at the moment, but that's WHY she's the focus, while Obama is currently not creating "news."

Over the weekend, there were several segments on CNN about how Obama's speech seems to have saved him and how he's well ahead in the primary race.

The thing we have to understand about CNN is that while they may often seem to be slanting one way or another, all they're REALLY interested in is making ratings. So they'll go with the stories that give them that. That's been the MO of news organizations in this country for decades.

28. Wish I could help you out there, but I can't. Regardless of who started
using that phrase, it's quite fitting.

I've pretty much turned the teevee off, with the exception of Countdown. The cable nooze stations add nothing of value to the national conversation.
