Did anyone else hear Wolfson's explanation of Hillary's "sniper fire" claim?
Edited on Mon Mar-24-08 12:32 PM by jenmito
As I'm sure you all know by now, Hillary claimed to have come under sniper fire during a trip to Bosnia. Howard Wolfson was asked about it this morning on "Morning Joe," and after changing the subject by claiming the Obama campaign is running a dirty campaign, insulting her character every single day ever since he "lost" TX and OH, he went on to read about 5 or 6 quotes from articles back then saying how she as First Lady went to Bosnia into what could've been considered a dangerous place, how she went to a place that was heavily guarded because of POTENTIAL danger, etc. He proved that she lied with those quotes, but hey-at least he tried. :eyes:

5. Yeah, I watched him fillibuster Mika Brezinski...
... while she just sat there with that bunny-in-headlights look. It was laughable. You've got Wolfson right there on the phone, and that "reporter" refused to ask him the obvious questions about why his candidate embellished, and lied, about her trip to Bosnia.

It was just awful.

11. Great Comment from Huffingtonpost
Here's a great comment from the Huffingtonpost website from samaraijack:

I especially like the part when the bullets were richoteing off the tarmac, and the secret service had to grab Mrs. Clinton to throw her into the armored vehicle.

But, seeing a small child, alone on the runway, Hillary pushed the agent aside yelling "I've got to get the baby!!" She vaulted three parked Humvees, sliding on the asphalt just in time. As mortar and tank rounds smashed into the ground arond them, Hillary shielded the helpless child in her arms.

She rolled 50 yards to a nearby hangar. Then, with all her might, she stood up, sidekicked the locked hangar door off its hinges. As a small backpack nuclear device was detonated from a nearby ravine, Hillary fabricated a makeshift shelter from airplane wing panels she observed leaning against a hangar wall.

After the shock waves and heat dissipated, Hillary, still cradling the now crying infant, walked through the radioactive fallout to a nearby RedCross helicopter. Afterwards, Hillary commented "It was the least I could do as a First Lady of the United States of America".

"Now, don't we have some wounded soldiers to visit?" She refused first aid, and, still glowing from radiation, strode into a waiting bulletproof limo.

----
Then, Hillary jumped on another plane and personally solved the mess in Northern Ireland.

42. Depends on what the meaning of "under sniper fire" is
or something like that.

Hey - maybe she honestly thought there were bullets flying. Having Chelsea with her may have made her extra sensitive to the possibility of danger? If I had my kid with me in that situation, a slammed car door might make me duck and cover too.

20. yes
and I am still laughing.

on a related note :Hillary Clinton tells all about the time she escaped a brutal mugging on the southside of Chicago. When video footage exposes that the mugging in question was an ice cream vendor forgetting to give her 25 cents change the campaign does a tailspin -- Howard Wolfson : I do not think it is a point of contention that Hillary Clinton lost money, furthermore many local services have reported that a mugging did occur within two miles of the location in question within the 72 hours prior. I think its time for Barack Obama to raise the dialogue level in this campaign and stop pointing out Mrs. Clinton's ridiculous hyperbole and compulsive lying.

he quoted multiple newspaper accounts that showed that Hillary has inflated the danger of the landing. What gets me as someone who has worked at a high level in political campaigns is that he was prepped for this question. This is what they decided was there best defense after careful consideration of the problem. This is the most pathetic excuse for a team of politicians I have seen in my 35 years in politics.

... in light of the US military death toll in Iraq crossing the 4000 mark.

Is her tarmac drama most like...

... Dukakis's tank moment?

... Bush's flight suit moment?

I'd go w/ the flight suit moment, as both were phony military posturing while soldiers lives were actually on the line.
