The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Nevada shows the state’s Electoral College votes could be up for grabs this November. Barack Obama leads John McCain 45% to 41% in a poll with a 4.5 percentage point margin of sampling error. Hillary Clinton holds a statistically insignificant one-point edge over McCain, 44% to 43%.

Glad to see that this state is in play for both candidates. I have dreams of a Iowa, Colorado and Nevada path to the presidency which would mean we wouldn't have to rely on Florida or Ohio this time.

1. Iowa, Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada have 26 electoral votes between them
and I think we can pick them up this year along with Virginia--I think O can win VA's 13 votes.

2. We keep all of Kerry's states - including Wisconsin and Pennsylsvania
and those 26 electoral votes will be more than enough to win the presidency. You could even give New Hampshire to McCain and we'd still win.

I hate to put all of our eggs into Ohio and Florida basket.

3. He's also only 6 points behind McCain in Kansas.
Kansas, which hasn't voted for a Democratic president since 1964.

That says something.

4. I'm not sure if that holds, but it would be nice to put that state in play.
Or at least make the Rethugs spend some money in that state and make them fight on their own turf.
