I am and Always Have been a Strong Supporter of Barack Obama
Edited on Mon Mar-24-08 04:08 PM by hnmnf
(except for that day I supported Edwards lol)

But that doesnt matter to some here. I criticized some Obama supporters here for what I see as arrogance and what is the response by some? To call me a clown and put me on ignore. They view me as a Clinton troll because I spoke out against some Obama people and used the word "fuck." I have started threads declaring Hillary Clinton a liar numerous times, including one calling her a "fucking liar...ooo there's that dirty word again. And yet I criticize Obama supporters once and I'm declared a clown and put on ignore.

You know, I hate to agree with the Clinton counterparts who I cant stand, but some of this is McCarthyism. A name was listed that was very similar to mine on a thread about Capital Hill. The name was hmmf. My name is Hnmnf. Yes, that was me. I joined out of my interest of that site and nothing else. I didnt post, and was soon deleted anyway after being discovered on DU. But the link to McCarthy is that I have been named something that I am not because I appear on some crack pot list. Many hear dont bother to look into my post history or the fact that I have been a strong Obama supporter for months now, they simply see the name and the post and hit ignore.

Finally my avatar. I have explained this before but I'll explain it again. I've been told by many that I think Obama is my Messiah, so I'm embracing it because us Obama supporters are brainwashed after all.

Here's my thread btw.

1. Feelings are obviously running strong here, there is so much evidence of that
Edited on Mon Mar-24-08 04:10 PM by Tom Rinaldo
including this that you talk about with your OP. But I have seen you continually defend Barack Obama and quite a few times be highly critical of Hillary Clinton. Yet you always attempt to remain open minded. Still you have taken your share of abuse from Clinton supporters on this board. I'm sorry that some of the same is now hitting you from some Obama supporters also as a result of your efforts to remain fair and open minded. It is simply evidence of how our emotions are moving faster than our thoughts too much of the time at GD-P.

But there are people on both sides who are trying to conduct a reasonable debate without backing away from their own strong support for the candidate of their choice. You are one of them and I salute you for that.

But there was a member with almost the same name as you. They are gone now, but they had almost the same name.

That's who I thought you were.

I do know that YOU are an Obama supporter, as do the vast majority of us.

I think that any of us who have had the courage to admit the imperfections in our own candidate have felt the wrath though. Apparently we are all willing to eat our own at the first appearance of dissent.

It's sad, and I feel embarrassed for making that mistake. I offer you my sincerest apology for the mix up.

When all I am trying to do is prevent the Clinton supporters from getting so pissed off that they stay home in November or start hating Obama when they would have otherwise been happy to vote and even volunteer for him.

6. the prolonged tension of the race is having an impact on people's temper and judgement
Prolonging this to August or roughly another 150 days will be very destructive to the party (Remember NH was only 80 some days ago)

You have been on the front line from the begining and I read everything of yours I can.

Thanks

10. I both hope and think that it will be settled in June at the latest
When the votes are all cast I fully expect all the powers to be, obviously including the candidates themselves, Party leaders, and the super delegates, to resolve this one way or another. It won't drag on to the convention, I honestly believe that.

If you start out flaming, don't be surprised when you get flamed in return.

Personally, I disagree with your assessment, but I wasn't even going to touch that thread given the inflammatory language.

21. What's really funny is the list itself.
Aside from the OP, the rest of the are huge Hillary supporters, and most of which have disappeared from here for a week or so... until today.

Which, of course, is exactly what all three threads said.

Funny, isn't it?

You're a good chap. Even if I don't agree with you on some issues.*

-Drachasor, fellow Obama supporter

*For instance, I think the only way for Hillary to get the most popular vote is for Obama's campaign to implode, at which point he'd have to withdraw. Ergo, there's no reason for Hillary to be in the running at the moment, since the "most popular vote" at that point would not be necessary.

HRC supporters are out numbered almost 4 to one. They get that shit day in and day out for simply posting news articles that are critical of Obama. (yes, some get out of hand) but even if they all get out of hand they can't match the number of out of hand Obama supporters. They are out numbered 4 to 1.

Finally an Obama supporter experience it. I never thought I'd see the day.

Blacklists are bad.

I started a post earlier today asking why the need for mass ignore lists to be passed around... and it was locked because it came from somewhere else. regardless of where it came from it was a list about posters here and it was being passed around here.

The ignore feature here can be a handydandy tool to keep tempers under control, but each person who choses that tool should chose themselves who they want to be on that list.....not take the word of some anonymous person on the internet.

Learn to think and judge for yourselves rather than have others tell you what is best.

I like Obama and Clinton for the most part and I equally criticize both sides when they overstep and get blasted by both for it. Both sides have a vocal minority that engage in group think and like to categorize everyone on the other side in a single, monolithic label. It sucks and it's unfair.
