You are right...the OP has done everything within his power to make it worse. Now he can celebrate: he's succeeded. Even many Obama supporters have recognized this.

11. OK, well I think it's much much worse than it ever was in 2004.

18. Because achieving his goal took time.
Now he can celebrate...he's helped lower the level of discussion in GDP 2008 to much lower than it was in 2004. Now he can "finally" relax...his goal has been accomplished.

3. 2004 doesn't even compare. We never had charges of racial and gender hatred thrown around.

We had shrill arguments about electability, but that really was the worst of it.

7. Has been for a while now
though the process didn't go on nearly as long in 2004, it seems to me 2004 sophomoric, whereas much of what we see here is infantile....

8. Who can recall EXACTLY how things were in 2004?
It was so long ago, you know.

10. I don't remember 2004 being so bad, but then again I was a Kucinich supporter
and I'm sure the Deaniacs were having a hard time while Kerry slowly took over what everyone (here at least) thought was his. It's much funner to root for a candidate that doesn't have a chance. It's much messier when you're supporting someone actually in the race. David

12. It has been for a while but this lull in the campaign
is making it excessively cannibalistic here in GDP

13. We always think OUR time is the worst or best-----
--that is why I agree with on of my old professors who once said--no good history interpretation is written until 50 years after.... But with two "First" viable candidates--I think a case can be made that the tensions are a bit higher this time. Last time we could unite behind Kerry---

21. Yes, we need some Haitian man-tits to give a sense of completeness.
I tried, but the thread got locked.

Much worse. If the rules of 2004 were applied to this forum, there'd be no one left.

19. Because the same, reasonable rules are not in place, it has always
been worse. It's a joke and a disgrace and everything in between.

20. So much worse it's not even comparable.
Although I find myself strangely addicted to it.
