We're having a DSCC town hall meeting today with James Carville, Barbara Boxer, and Dick Durbin. And I'm going. It's free, okay? Besides, I like Boxer. Anyway, if I should *cough* happen *cough* to be near the mic, I know DU would have some choice and pithy things to say to Mr. Carville. Suggestions? Here's my current favorite:

"Mr. Carville, I am curious about one thing. In your recent reference comparing Governor Bill Richardson to Judas. Are you implying that Hillary is Jesus?"

On Edit ... You could ask Barbara Boxer the same thing. She'd get my vote, too.

Then why not ask this:

Mr. Carville, why would you make a remark that is so divisive and nasty, especially given the fact that Hillary Clinton's campaign has been criticized for that kind of behavior? Do you really believe such words help the candidate you support?

...the other candidate if your original choice doesn't win the primary.

But say it in such a way he doesn't get all bent out of shape...something like:

Mr. Carville, what would you say to a voter who cannot allow the Republican's failed policies to continue to destroy our country, but whose first choice candidate isn't on the ticket for the general election?

How can you convince that person to support the other democratic candidate?

15. I would ignore him! James has always been a nasty fighter for whatever side he was on.
Back in 91 we all thought he was doiing a great job when he was fighting and yelling about GHB, but he was on BC's side then. NOW he sees the opposition to HIS candidate as anyone who isn't supporting Hillary, so that's how he directs his anger. As they say, National Politics "ain't" pee wee football!

although i feel that wizards are mostly suppose to be "neutral" in worldly affairs.. saruman was at one time content with the "nature" of things.

so his traitor status could be somewhat questioned, maybe =)

apologizing. I saw a clip this morning on MSNBC that sent chills up my spine. I wish I'd recorded the program because I can't remember his exact wording but I saw something in his face and words that made me feel concern for Richardson. It also showed me what Richardson was talking about when he said those around the Clintons are working a gutter campaign and I have to add Carville to my list of people who seem to be evil and who don't have the countries best interests at heart.

80. Ask him if it would be an act of betrayal for a Democratic operative
to tip off his Republican operative wife about Kerry's strategy in the 2004 election when it came to Ohio? Say, "I'd call someone like that a Judas."

for Scooter Libby? Benedict Arnold.

92. Tell him that if he stayed away from Bush that he'd have more hair
'cuz you know how Bush likes rubbing people's heads.

You might also tell him that Larry David no longer considers Carville a member of the bald community.

94. Ask him if he was Judas for calling his wife, Mary, and telling her that .....
Edited on Tue Mar-25-08 04:42 PM by Botany
.... Kerry was going to Ohio and make sure the vote got counted
in particular the provisional ballots which numbered more than
the bush's lead over Kerry ... and then after being tipped off by Karl
Rove Ken Blackwell "lost" 100s of thousands of votes.

And if he says it is not true then why hasn't he sued Bob Woodward
for liable?

***************************

If not just call him the "aging cajun," and just because he can't
"get it up anymore" isn't he just like an old dog that can't do
anything so all he can do is yap and bark all day.

101. I would ask him, Mr. Carville, if you are starting to make comments like the "Richardson...Judas"
comment, you who are one of the brightest, most articulate and reasonable people in politics, don't you think this race for the nomination has gone on for too long and become too acrimonious?
