Harry Reid: Nominee will be decided before the convention.

From an interview last week:

Question: Do you still think the Democratic race can be resolved before the convention?

Reid: Easy.

Q: How is that?

Reid: It will be done.

Q: It just will?

Reid: Yep.

Q: Magically?

Reid: No, it will be done. I had a conversation with Governor Dean (Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean) today. Things are being done.

That's all the Nevada Democrat would say about it.

7. well - whatever deal they cut - they had better make it very very public
otherwise it will be difficult to unite the two D-factions. There are a lot of bad feelings right now toward the other side of the party.

8. totally
hillary benefits more from making a graceful exit soon and being able to claim a good position than she does by tearing down the front runner and causing the party to lose power.

not that I'm super pro obama, I lean towards him because I agree with him a bit more now and some of his endorsees are ones I respect. but by appearing to leave "for the good of the party" she comes off with a lot of political capital on her side.

9. I agree with you . . . from the position of being a supporter of neither
but - I think she can be effective in a number of high-profile positions. So lets be done with it and move forward - enough in-fighting.

And make it all public - so the Hillary supporters will see she will have a major role in the next administration.
