Hillary: "i made a mistake"
I just read that Hillary said that she made a mistake about the bosnia thing.

Let me just say props to Hillary. she could have went a different way with it but instead she chose to just say that she had a different memory and that shes human and that happens sometimes.

To me, this is a truthful apology and she earns honesty points for it.

25. Much like Obama had no choice saying he made a "boneheaded move"
After being caught dealing with slumlord Rezko.

28. LOL.
Chicago Tribune: Obama Sets a "Standard for Candor"

On Friday afternoon, Sen. Barack Obama sat down to talk with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune. It was a 92-minute discussion in which he talked at length about his relationship with now-indicted businessman Tony Rezko. And the Tribune editors believe that he "offered a lengthy and, to us, plausible explanation for the presence of in his personal and political lives."

"The most remarkable facet of Obama's 92-minute discussion was that, at the outset, he pledged to answer every question the three dozen Tribune journalists crammed into the room would put to him," writes The Tibune in an editorial. "And he did."

Obama released all of his tax returns. Who's still hiding the dirty laundry? HILLARY!

35. You don't get it, do you?
There is a huge difference in making a mistake and admitting it as Obama did with Rezko...and intentionally lying, getting caught and trying to cover one's large, lying ass as Clinton did. While the former is understandable and the candor is commendable, the latter is merely a lying snake being caught and hisssing back at its captors and trying to slither away on its slimely belly.

3. I just finally HEARD her and she sounded snotty, like a kid used to getting her way
caught and scolded. She did NOT sound contrite. She sounded like she was putting a chip on her shoulder and daring somebody... We've had 7+ years of that arrogance and the nation is fucking sick of it.

6. No if she was being truthful she would have admitted she lied earlier
She was busted in a big fat fuckin whopper. Short of admitting that she had lied, a memory lapse was the only way out of it.

Doesn't matter, everybody knows the whole goddamn thing was made up. Whatever credibility she had, is now in the shitter.

And I think it speaks volumes that she can "admit a mistake" here, but not for her Iraq vote.

I didn't see the video but im sure she seemed smug. She has always seemed condescending to me.

But hey, its hard to say you screwed up on national tv.

Im willing to believe her. I still want Obama to win, but im feeling a little better about her.

16. The trouble is that she misremembered it in a way that made her look good,
like she was actually braving sniper fire. Then she comes clean when she has been outed as having exaggerated her experience. She would win points for honesty if she were not always trying to puff up her role in world affairs. There is no way she is ever going to win in going head to head with McCain on being under fire, for being in danger and enduring hardship. McCain cleans her clock on those grounds.

18. She DID make a mistake... in thinking her lie wouldn't be exposed....

One time is a mistake.

Twice is a colossal mistake.

Three times is NO LONGER a mistake, but a willful lie.

She repeated the Bosnia sniper fire story THREE separate times.

she could lie on her resume for the job. Can you imagine if this were Gore, Kerry, Dean, Obama? They used fabricated stuff to smear them and now the m$$$m has caught a candidate in a genuine lie and dan abrams wants to drop it.

27. If you or I were to tell a police dispatcher we were under sniper fire,
we'd be arrested for filing a false report if video evidence later showed otherwise. And the judge wouldn't lend a lot of weight to "Your honor, I made an honest mistake."

30. You're more generous than I am.
She would have earned points if she'd come clean when Sinbad tried to help her remember correctly by offering his memory of the event. Instead, she dismissed him as a comedian and continued with the lie. She made the "mistake" on 4 separate occasions, and came clean only after the video had made its way from "The YouTube" to the teevee. In other words, she admitted her "mistake" because she had no choice.

She earned more weasel points from me.

Sinbad episode when he was trying to "help her remember", No Surrender.

What what she thinking when that came out and she didn't start downplaying it knowing that wouldn't be the end of it?

38. Seriously....
Anyone who believes it to be an honest mistake is essentially redundant as a human being. You do not 'misremember' something like that so drastically.

Unless, perhaps, you have early onset Alzheimers or similar. In fact, that question may have to be begged if she is going to continue to maintain that is was just a case of 'misspeaking' / forgetfulness.
