Honest Question: Does anyone sincerely believe post-sniper Hillary could win the GE somehow?
Post Snipergate, the image of Hillary standing on stage with an actual war veteran who survived torture and recalling her "he'll present his years and years of experience" remark... Do you believe there's any possible way Hillary could still win the election? This is assuming a theoretical that it's even still possible for her to win the primary (which I strongly doubt at this point).

How or what could possibly be her strategy for overcoming this with voters? Currently her plan of action appears to be "ignore it." Though that might work with an opponent like Obama, I somehow do not see any way that this strategy survives a GE contest.

Thoughts?

1. Important first question...does anybody believe she can win the nomination?
Edited on Tue Mar-25-08 11:54 PM by napoleon_in_rags
Answer that and I will speculate about the GE. Right now I am hearing that she can't.

2. we had this election won until obama decided to "unite us" and
if he can unite the dem party the way he has, just think what the country will look like in 4 years if he happens to even get the nomination and be elected? WOW!

6. Obama didn't force HIllary to start inventing claims about Bosnian snipers
Obama had nothing to do with that. And frankly it's rather obvious that would've come out in the GE had the primary not gone on this long. If Obama had not been in this election cycle, we'd pretty much be looking at a GOP win almost without a doubt once her sniper story was exposed.

24. Ah yes...
it's Hillary's gender that's really in question here. Men are totally forgiven by the media inventing combat experience. Just ask Kerry how forgiving they can be with such claims.

20. Ummm.... where did he say he hasn't heard Wright's sermons?
That's some nice brainwashing you got there... Newsmax?

Do I have to do the numbers again that prove how feasible it is that he's been honest?

32. He said he didn't hear those particular statements by Wright, except for one which he knew about...
...a year ago. He has said he has heard other statements that could be considered controversial.

He's been consistent on this.

And even if he misstated to a very small degree in one of his interviews that night, that doesn't compare to inventing an hair-raising escape from sniper fire. One of those things is misspeaking, and the other is outright lying.

19. We never had this election won.
Acting like it was all a done deal is why Hillary Clinton is in the ridiculous situation she's in now. She has nobody to blame but herself.

34. We only had this election "won" in the same way we had 2004 "won".
Clinton would have lost it for us but there was still the
possibility that another nominee could have won.

But Clinton's pretty-well fixed that now. :(

5. Nope.... McCain has more experience in elected office, both voted for the IWR and now she lied
about a photo opp on a tarmac while he not only was a POW for years but survived the Forrestal disaster and flew numerous missions in Viet Nam.

What subject can she win on? The economy.. OK, he is a blithering idiot but he will still beat the hell out of her in the GE

...she is just a laughing stock over her lies about Bosnia, that the GE would be more like a Cheech and Chong skit than an election.

10. Most of her "experience" was hearsay anyway.
And now she undercuts the few incidents which were supposed to be evidence of that experience. It makes everything she says suspect and turns her into another Laura Bush.

Edited on Wed Mar-26-08 12:18 AM by bhikkhu
is that it paints an individual a liar. I know people where I live who bought the commercials and hate Kerry to this day, convinced he is a liar. I think Hillary already had some negatives here, and this seals here fate as far as those who don't care to parse exact words and research contexts. In any case, it is impossible to reconcile the video and her account - the conclusion is inevitable, and she is done worse than Kerry.

Admitting a mistake may bring some sympathy from supporters but little else.
