Harold Ford - Harry Reid - James Carville - North Carolina - Clinton Apocolypse
Edited on Wed Mar-26-08 02:08 AM by crankychatter
The North Carolina Primary will be held in SIX WEEKS.

Harold Ford, Chairman of the DLC, regarding Barack Obama's Speech on Race, stated, in a thinly veiled endorsement;

"He‘s a thinker, he is serious, he is unafraid to deal with the very tough issues. I look forward to him not only—look forward to him building on that speech from last week and giving us a sense of how you correct this economy. How you bail us out of this incredible mortgage challenge that we find ourselves in, that so many middle class families find themselves in, and how is it that we inspire a generation—a new generation of Americans to serve the world on behalf of America‘s interest... Mrs. Clinton is going to have to win in a state she‘s not expected to win. And if I could be so bold early, the winner of the North Carolina primary will be the nominee for the Democratic Party."

Obama is expected to win North Carolina handily.

Harry Reid was asked "Do you still think the Democratic race can be resolved before the convention?"

With his usual cryptic brevity he said "Easy."
Asked again, "How is that?"
Reid said "It will be done.
Asked yet again "It just will?"
Reid said "Yep."
Asked yet again, "Magically?"
Reid stated, "No, it will be done. I had a conversation with Governor Dean (Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean) today. Things are being done."
That's all the Nevada Democrat would say about it.

James Carville, reaffirming his "Judas" allegations regarding the endorsement of Barack Obama by Super-Delegate, Governor Bill Richardson, stated EMPHATICALLY, "I WANT TO MAKE SURE HE IS PROPERLY BRANDED,"

I will wager EVERY Super-Delegate in America heard that. SUPER-DELEGATES, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. FOLLOW GOVERNOR RICHARDSON'S LEAD AND YOU WILL BE BRANDED!!!

May 6th, North Carolina Primary - CLINTON'S APOCOLYPSE!

Clinton has a history of inappropriate, emotionally charged rhetoric. She has a clear pattern of misrepresentation of the facts (legal-ese for lying); and a driving compulsion to blame others for her own mistakes and actions. I just pray that she doesn't go into high warble, and begin decompensating on National Television like Sen. Joe McCarthy. That would be so damaging to future prospects for a female American President, an idea whose time is long past due.

On a personal level, I don't wish the Senator ill, and in fact, I wouldn't wish such an outcome on anyone.

Bad for the Party, bad for America, and bad for a well known public servant, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

5. I was with you until the "histrionics" line.
Hillary can get angry. She can attack. But I can't say I've seen a history of histrionics.

thanks for the imput

I still think her waving the Obama NAFTA flyer around and having a tantrum in Ohio was a clear incidence of "histrionics," disproportionate and inappropriate.

But I can be an A-hole, and that's not my intention.

7. high warble = quick end
I am not really sure what a 'high warble' is.

If it is sexist then I am forced to condemn your sexist OP

If not I thought it was well thought out and written.

Of all of the events in the last month I think that the 'branding' comments by Carville are the most incidiary. It is in essence political blackmail. It is not democratic, Democratic or American. I have had a couple of threads about it but there is much more reaction to the tapes showing her lying (which we all knew about and was accidental) and are obviously going to cripple her campaign.

When you have a guy coming out and giving a menacing scowling 'branding' what is being threatened here? Is there sensitive information that the Clinton's have on people that they are going to use - is this blackmail?

9. not intended that way but on review, it's borderline
I borrowed that line from an attorney friend, when questioning whether or not a witness had the emotional stability to take the stand.

Cheap shot possibly, but not intended as an ascription of qualities from desultory stereotypes of women, or for that matter, HRC... she's a very strong person, generally.

It's just all gotten very intense lately.

Again, thank you all for pulling MY awareness UP.

8. I pray they consider the African American experience in recent elections...
No, you should not support Obama because he's African American or because you assume that he is the choice of persons of color. But I do hope that the Democratic leadership considers the last 2 presidential elections. Florida 2000 -- black voters identified by race and illegally removed from voter rolls. FL and OH 2004 -- blacks targeted for another election theft. Now, imagine 2008 -- first realistic black candidate for POTUS ever, leading in states won, delegates won, campaign finances... energizing the political world and inspiring Americans... and the party gives the nomination to his opponent. If you're African American, do you feel that your political participation is real? As an American, are you motivated to support Clinton, or would your most meaningful "vote" be to reject the process?

11. Good Point...they should be very aware of the GOP tactics against AA this time around
because if they forget 2000 + 2004 then we will surely not have our REAL POTUS this year around too.

12. there would be a seismic shock of unimagined proportions.
hillary speaks of voter disenfranchisement. now understand that it is only myth that obama's only real base of support are black voters. but as you said, if he has the money, the delegates, the states and the votes but hillary takes the nomination, if she succeeds, imagine her wiping out and entire race of voters.
and btw, by sliming richardson it could be said they would be doing the same to the hispanic vote. that people are not useful for their diversity but only useful in getting vote in that racial demographic they fit into.

13. Good post.
By Carville's sour grapes "branding," he means he wants to bloody Richardson up in case he has aspirations to become VP should Senator Obama win the nom. At the same time, he's sending a verbal threat to other SD's. I don't understand why everyone who supports Hillary feel they can threaten people at will. The entire bunch of her supporters suffer from a bad case of privilege. Pathetic losers.

15. Most supers were not given their only claim to fame by Bill Clinton
like Richardson. So, calling this a threat is stupid at best. You guys are really reaching now that many Hillary supporters aren't here to keep you somewhat honest.

You need an intervention. It's scary.

16. I've got your stupid. What is it if not a threat?
Most Hillary supporters have run off with their tails between their legs, and if the sock puppets return, they will continue to get their asses handed to them. Hillary supporters lie just like their leader and wouldn't know honesty if it bit them in the ass. You are a perfect example.
