IT'S THE END OF DEMOCRACY AS WE KNOW IT!
Clinton lied! IT'S THE END OF DEMOCRACY AS WE KNOW IT!

Obama's pastor is a racist! IT'S THE END OF DEMOCRACY AS WE KNOW IT!

Clinton hasn't released her tax returns! IT'S THE END OF DEMOCRACY AS WE KNOW IT!

Obama hates gays! IT'S THE END OF DEMOCRACY AS WE KNOW IT!

Clinton is the anti-christ! IT'S THE END OF DEMOCRACY AS WE KNOW IT!

Obama is the anti-christ! IT'S THE END OF DEMOCRACY AS WE KNOW IT!

Chelsea lied! IT'S THE END OF DEMOCRACY AS WE KNOW IT!

Michelle hates America! IT'S THE END OF DEMOCRACY AS WE KNOW IT!

Obama already won! IT'S THE END OF DEMOCRACY AS WE KNOW IT!

Hillary already won! IT'S THE END OF DEMOCRACY AS WE KNOW IT!

Goddamn it. What the fuck is wrong with people? The last time I saw this much pathetic whining was the last time I listened to right wing radio. This is embarrassing. People up in arms about the most pathetic inane shit I have ever seen. Both sides blaming the other.

I got some news for you. The only way we'll see THE END OF DEMOCRACY AS WE KNOW IT, is if we allow this petty crap to get in the way of the actual goal in this election. To rid us of neo-con rule. Enjoy your posts, enjoy the debate but goddamn it keep it honest and remember what the final goal is.

If you are one of those who refuses to vote for the Democratic candidate whoever it may be, then you really need to align yourself with a website not labeled DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND. You pathetic whining fuck.

4. And I feel Fiiiiiiiiiiiiine.....
Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign
towers. Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself
churn. Lock it in, uniforming, book burning, blood
letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate.
Light a candle, light a motive. Step down, step down.
Watch your heel crush, crushed, uh-oh, this means no
fear cavalier. Renegade steer clear! A tournament,
tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions,
offer me alternatives and I decline.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

The other night I dreamt of knives, continental
drift divide. Mountains sit in a line, Leonard
Bernstein. Leonid Brezhnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester
Bangs. Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You
symbiotic, patriotic, slam bug net, right? Right.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel
fine...fine...

5. Indeed. It's breeding mistrust everywhere, custom-made to Republican specs.
Edited on Wed Mar-26-08 01:18 PM by patrice
Even if your candidate wins, s/he won't be able to do anything because no one trusts anyone they disagree with enough to work together on anything. It IS the end of Democracy as we know it.

8. Not quite yet....
not ready to give up yet. A few more unity threads that drop like a stone while the CHELSEA LIED and OBAMA IS THE ANTI-CHRIST threads get tons of hits and recs and I may just cash in and move to a country that is a little less socially and sexually repressed.

14. I couldn't agree with you more. I have been thinking about doing that more lately.
Even when you just think, "Well, it's just a Troll War" you also have to recognize that Troll Wars DO have negative effects on people who aren't trolls.

19. It's hard not to let it..
I posted below that when I see my preferred candidate called the anti-christ I almost have no choice but to make a snide comment. Hell I have found myself jumping to the defense of the other candidate on a few of the more pathetic threads...

We'd be so much further ahead right now with Edwards.

7. We are going to lose this fall.
I can feel it in my bones. It will be so irrelevant whether Clinton or Obama gets the nomination. McCain is soaring to the top. He went from being flat broke last fall to being the Republican nominee. All this fighting between Dems is terrible and McCain just runs right up the middle. Half the Dems love Obama. Half the Dems love Clinton. One of these groups of people are going to be so pissed off in the end that they will vote for McCain because he does appeal to Independents. I can not believe we ended up with these two candidates out of all the other choices we had. What idiots we are.

10. There is still sanity around here
don't give up hope. If we lose to McCain, then give up hope, but until then we need to keep pushing unity instead of divisiveness, if we are ever going to get out of this mess. I would have preferred Kucinich or Edwards but we have what we have and any Democratic candidate is going to be better then 4 more years of neo-con bullshit.

Look at McCain this way, the Repugs really didn't want him but he was the least damaged candidate they could find. They don't think they can win, that's why we see so many low post counts posting inflammatory shit, right wing ops. They have nothing good to run on, so they are trying to split the Dems, it's kind of a Hail Mary pass... If we stop playing their game we can win easily.

17. Looking at the way people post on GD-P
makes me hopeless. I wish Obama and Clinton would have just shared a ticket somehow to unite the party months ago. Now it is fractured and there are going to be a lot of pissed off voters going to McCain. Look at the way people here on DU talk to each other now. They are all firmly ensconced into separate camps as enemies. How can we ever reunite? I have been feeling more hopeless with each passing day watching how the media has inflamed each little issue regarding Obama and Clinton. They are dividing us. Corporate media does not want a Democrat in the White House. I firmly believe that they have sabotaged the entire process with slanted reporting for both of our wonderful Democratic candidates. It is very frustrating to those of us who like both of them a lot. I just don't see us winning this election. I will vote for whoever is our nominee though. I am really proud of them both and I wish we could all come together.

20. After the GE is important too.
People are supposed to work together, but they're going to find out that they've driven too many away and whoever is left to do the REAL work of "Democracy" won't be enough to accomplish much.

25. Thanks- I noticed most of the low numbers were plants...
We need to get a symbol to use instead of answering these repub plants with a defensive response. A symbol that states "I know who you are and you're not going to get to me!" That way we're not leaving it un responded to but then we're not getting pulled into it! Can someone come up with it and explain it's usage to the rest of DU? That would be much better. We must unify!!!!

16. Sorry, this is not "democracy" in action
Democracy is both sides having a say then coming up with a compromise all can live with. This is pathetic infighting spurred on by the opposing party to put their candidate in a position where he won't get buried in a landslide. And we are doing our best to help them. Hell I'm no less guilty than anyone else, when I see my preferred candidate called the "Anti-Christ" I have a tendency to make a snide comment. Their tactic works well.

22. We need a support group . . .
Somebody said something soooooo completely condescending to me yesterday "...in time you will come to understand .... (why it's good to hate ____________ = paraphrasing here)".

It was all I could do to stop myself from including in my reply something to the effect that the poster needed to look up the definition of words like paternalistic and condescend. :puke:

23. Hehe.. Condescension has become such a part of my
vocabulary it's not even making my "spell check" anymore. (I always forgot the "c")

And the more time I spend here today the angrier I get. I think it's time to go play the guitar and write some music, cause this is just draining... My time could be spent more productively..

24. In a democracy we should have an elected leader...
and I believe the last two elections have been stolen by those in charge of the electronic voting machines. I was so depressed for months after the last election that it's taken a lot to get back on board (Obama and those who believe in him have helped me back). We have to unify because if the numbers for the GE are anywhere close they can steal it again. We not only have to be supportive of each other but we need to help the disillusioned republicans to see reality. Most repubs that I know either watch fox news or don't really want to know what is going on. Someone needs to break it to them...gentily.
