If you don't want to vote for Obama
Then please vote third-party or try a write-in.

1. It's not your place to tell others how to vote.

3. I get commercials that tell me how to vote all the time.
I don't see why he can't have his say too.

5. I certainly can urge others to vote a certain way
or not vote a certain way. Political speech, and all.

6. are you kidding? Then why are people posting here?
I thought it was to urge them to support (or not support) a particular candidate. Hmmm. Very confusing.

Used the P word and everything.

24. The "please" makes it a request,
and people at DU, not to mention people in the real world, tell others how to vote all the time.

It's called campaigning. :eyes:

21. Get a candidate acceptable to a majority of Americans or lose
Get a candidate acceptable to a majority of Americans or lose to a Scots-Irish war hero who gets a lot of Hispanic votes. Identity politics is poison at the national level. Why does New York City have so many Republican mayors?

28. Not Clinton. Not Obama.
Before everyone else dropped out, I would have said several of the others had the potential to be a good nominee, to win, to be a decent president.

At this point, the only hope I see is for a brokered convention and the nomination of Gore.

29. Please Explain Why
My candidate suspended a long time ago and I was heartbroken. I worked through my anger at the lack of coverage given to most of the democratic candidates. I am not an Obama or Clinton fan but I don't hate like some seem to take pride in doing. Knowing what would happen if McCain were elected how could any democrat vote for him in good conscience. It appears Obama will be our nominee and this election sure isn't the time to try to teach a lesson.

I will wholeheartedly support whomever the Democratic Party nominates for president. Sad to think that any DU "member" cannot see the folly of doing otherwise.

17. no shit
it's like saying, "well, if I go outside I may get mugged, so I'm going to save them the effort and shoot myself in the gut."

I fail to understand how someone can say "our candidate is a little to the right of where I am, so instead I'll let the guy who's way to the right of me win instead."

WTF, people?

I'm just going to assume we have a troll infestation instead of entertaining the idea that there are a sudden increase of short-sighted and logically impaired liberals out there. I don't believe in the "ignore" feature though, cause I admit that part of me loves watching a trainwreck.

19. I never use the ignore button
but I have to chuckle that many who support a candidate who preaches Unity, use the ignore button quite frequently (according to their own posts.)

If there is a democrat in the white house, regardless of who it is, he/she will have a democratic team with liberals or at least centrists in positions that are now occupied by those with "conservative values" and we have seen how great that has worked out.

20. exactly
as to the ignore feature, I am and have always been one who wants to know what the opinions of those I disagree with are, even if they piss me off sometimes. "Know thine enemy" and all that.

9. Are you out of your fucking mind?
YEah throw your vote away this year. Theres nothing important riding on it. Well maybe some dead soldiers, and maybe a chance to score health care for my family next year, but besides that... well, ok the supreme court, gas prices, food prices, the housing market collapse, the credit crunch, the recession, but beyond that, there's no reason to vote for the nominee whoever it may be.

Yo, Einstein, with all due respect :eyes: from one Obama supporter to another, if you want to split the party, go somewhere else and do it.

13. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Please DON"T write-in or go 3rd party
1. You will never find anyone that matches all of your beliefs, convictions, and aspirations 100%. Sometimes you must compromise.

2. Find a local candidate that you dig and concentrate your energies on his/her campaign. Then you can ignore the National race.

3. Remember the Supreme Court. Do you really want McCain selecting 3 more justices? They'll be like Thomas, Scalia, and Alito and will ruin this country for another half century.

Again: Please don't write in a candidate. Vote for whoever has a (D) after their name.

14. you need not tell us what we should do and how to vote. Hell, we
had this election won until obigot decided he wanted to unite us. And if this is the way he is doing it by dem going after dem, then help us L-rd if he gets the nomination, and I shutter to think if he were to become president the shape of the country after 4 years.

As many HRC supporters will do on election day and that is we will vote. How we vote is left up to each person, but we will exercise our right to vote.

22. The SUPREME COURT.... The Supreme Court... The Supreme Court
If you're real happy with the conservative bent to the Supreme Court and you want to see more conservatives like Roberts, Alito, Scalia & Thomas with the pre-corporism rulings, then by all means, cast your vote for McCain.

If not, then you'll be voting for whichever Democrat wins the nomination because there WILL be vacancies on the Supreme Court within the next 5 years and we damned-well better not have a Repub in office during that time.

Just think, how happy were you with their Emminent Domain ruling that cities can take possession of someones propoerty and turn it over for corporate development? Or their striking down of affirmative action plans for schooling that local areas worked out for themselves? Or... Or... Or...
