They all seem to drop like stones anyway, while pathetic weenie fucking posts like "I won't vote for Clinton" or I won't vote for Obama". command the board.

So why will I vote for whoever the Dem candidate is? Well because I have more than my sense of outrage or my sense of pride or my sense of "entitlement" on the line. I have 3 children. One with Autism. One adopted child with Myotonic Dystrophy. My family hasn't had health care in 2 years. "Pre-Existing conditions". And I make too much money for Medicare. McCain is worried about terrorists. I'm worried about my kids getting the fucking flu. Fuck the terrorists. My kids have a better chance of dying due to a lack of health care than they do of a terrorist attack.

There are a few other issues that some on DU have been calling rhetoric. Roe vs Wade, The Supreme court, housing crisis, credit crisis, gas prices, food prices, not to mention the war and 4000 dead soldiers.

Do you really believe that a third party can win? Do you really believe that McCain will be better than Obama or Clinton? If you do, then you need to find a new place to haunt. I have been an advocate of third party's for years, but this is post GWB time and there is no excuse for giving the GOP four more years. If you want to give it to them then go to O'Reilly's or Limbaugh's place. This is the DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND, not the "UNDERGROUND FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE SO INSULTED BY SOMETHING STUPID A DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE SAID THAT THEY WILL ADVOCATE VOTING REPUBLICAN".

Thank you for reminding us of what is important -- our humanity, and our relationships with other human beings. I have been re-reading Erich Fromm's wonderful 1955 book "The Sane Society" today, trying to find some quotes for an essay that focuses on that which is important. This thread did it.
