24. Amazing what abuse will do to a person...
The thought of voting Hillary turns my stomach, but Obama supporters are such negative jerks that you couldnt pay me to join them either.

What a dilemma. Pick your poison.

26. I think many,;many Hill supporters are beyond disgusting
liars and vile sleaze artists. But I'm not a weak minded fool. If Hilly gets the nomination- no matter how- she gets my vote.

5. And you notice, when asked they can't give a reason why.
But Obama supporters have the same answer; if she can't win by the voters' vote, she shouldn't be the candidate.

8. I bet this is even more prevalent with Hispanics and Asians
McCain is an extraordinarily Hispanic friendly candidate.

16. Or because they are working class people
Who get turned off when they see a Harvard educated lawyer, who is married to a Harvard educated lawyer, who serves in the United States Senate (and this lawyer is himself the son of a Harvard educated man, even if he did leave home), who had two parents that went to college.

They see this woman, who can give her kids every advantage in life that their kids don't have, these people probably weren't able to go to college themselves and their parents certainly weren't. These people see this woman who has everything, by American standards, with more oppurtunities than they ever had, someone who has savored everything that this country in theory has to offer, they see this woman, and they then find out that she said that she was only proud of this country once her husband began running for President.

For them, it would be one thing if this was said by a poor person in a ghetto or a trailer park, someone who is just struggling to survive, someone worse off than them. Coming from someone with an Ivy League education who has a husband with the same kind of education who is serving in the U.S. Senate.....this just angers them.

They then find out that said woman and her husband attend a church in which America is sometimes trashed. In which phrases such as "god damn America" are used, in which white people are the subject of derision. And they wonder, how can this couple, who has everything, continue to attend such a church that would run down the country that allowed them to have what they have.

These working class people, all they have is their country. All they have is their flag, they don't have the nicest cars, they can't afford to take trips to the Caribbean, they certainly will never serve in the U.S. Senate. But what they have is a belief in this country and the belief that life might just be better for their children, and they see this woman with everything, who is only "now proud of America because she might be First Lady"

The Republicans know this, and if Obama is the nominee they will use this against him in the fall, and McCain provides the perfect cover, because none of the flack will stick to him.

It's the same playbook of class warfare that the Republicans perfected in 1972/

27. It is comments like that that will cause many Hillary supporters to at leasat stay home
You forget that the Democrats voted for her in the caucuses and primaries. Obama got his victories thanks to Independents and Republicans.

But now the likes of you attack them, and her in terms that have nothing to do with the issues.

Women who support Hillary because she is a woman "drank the kool-aid" while blacks who support Obama because he is black are proud African American.

The media and pundits and, of course, DUers, use terms to insult and denigrate women that we thought we have left behind long time ago. While everyone is careful not to use any racial slur against Obama. McCain actually apologizes to Obama, while chuckles when a member of his audience talk about "the bitch."

Even that dude on SNL who went to "respond" to Tina Fey, did not use the N word, but said black.

15. Wouldn't it be ironic
if Hillary supporters flock to McCain after Hillary is defeated in the primary, McCain is elected and appoints a couple of "strict constructionist" justices who then overturn Roe v. Wade?

17. Vote for who?
Totally wrong. I am a Hillary fan and if she does not get the nomination then I will vote for Obama who will make an outstanding President. I am a Democrat and under no circumstances would I ever vote for a Republican. I just happen to think that we were really lucky this time and that all of our candidates would make great Presidents.

18. Perhaps because misogyny is still tolerated in this country while racism is not
at least, not in public.

Thus, many can get away with calling Hillary "b...." while, of course, no one would call Obama "n..." and get away with it.

Thus, McCain can chuckle when someone in the audience asks him about the "b..." while he goes out of his way to denounce supporters who attack Obama.

And thus, men can get away with "iron my shirt" or "make me a sandwich" while no one will be able to get away with asking Obama to "shine my shoes."
