N.C. Obama regains large lead: Leading Clinton by 21 points!
Edited on Wed Mar-26-08 08:20 PM by usregimechange
Raleigh, N.C. – After a week in which Barack Obama made several appearances in
North Carolina and confronted the controversy with his pastor by making a major speech
on race, he has expanded his lead in North Carolina to 21 points.

Obama leads Clinton 55-34 in the state. His gains were particularly strong in the
Triangle, the media market where his major speech on the war last week in Fayetteville
got the greatest amount of attention.

Obama also pulled within a 47-40 margin of Clinton with white voters after trailing
Clinton 56-30 last week, an indication that his speech on race in Philadelphia last week
may have earned him some points.

“The rule of thumb in this Presidential race is that if you don’t like how things are going,
just wait a week and they’ll turn around,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy
Polling. “Obama has really improved his standing in North Carolina by visiting the state
and openly taking on some of the controversies swirling around his campaign.”

I will be completing my analysis of NC in the next few days. Preliminary findings: Obama will destroy Clinton in NC.

29. Closer will not help Hillary.
She has got to win NC by at least 20 points and that will never happen in a million years.

3. that polling company changed their voting sample methodology
so its not an apples to apples comparison from poll to poll.

As I always say, don't count your chickens till survey usa comes out.

It's more likely a 7 or 8 point race now than 21.

8. We shall see when more polls come out.
But a few weeks ago you said that Pennsylvania was Clinton Country. You said that Pennsylvania had a lot of downscale and working class whites. You were right...

But I will also say that North Carolina is Obama country. A sizable black population with a lot of upscale whites. North Carolina is tailor made for him.

14. especially the Research Triangle area, and the western part of the
state which is much more progressive. Whether it will be a 20 pt. blowout, who knows? But it will certainly be double digits.

15. Both my CEO & CFO confided that they had switched to Obama....
the female CEO & her daughter were initially backing Hillary, but like many of us, was turned off by the tone of her campaign. My CFO & his partner were on the fence, but I think the speech pushed them over. I'm hearing so many of these stories. And for a change, we get to make a difference.

23. Run up the score.
Let's make it definitive. Put it way out of her reach.

John Edwards?! Where are you? An endorsement would be great any time now!

I don't want a brokered convention. I want a concession speech. North Carolina... make it so!

31. I don't know about PPP.
It looks like they made a 20 point shift in the span of a few days--something I find quite hard to believe. I still think Obama will win NC but I don't pretend to have any more answers.
