amarillo texas. library. upperclass older lady all put together
obvious money. if you know the southern "lady" she was it. she was in line at the library yesterday with obama's book. i was surprised. this is country club, refined lady. lol. i ask if she had heard obama's speech. (i needed something to see why she had his book). yes, she says so softly. good speech i say. she says..... it made me cry, and put her hand on her heart and even then got tears in her eyes.

today my 10 yr old son said he was going thru the hall and said peace to his teacher. his teacher says back, .... in middle east. saying.... peace in middle east. (really unusual in this area) then he tells me this teacher is voting for obama

my father. .... conservative always republican country club business owner.... loved obama's speech. agreed with stewart, adult discussion on racism and how much he appreciated it

anyway.

i was impressed

1. Yep
Glad to hear it. I can't wait for the delegate convention this Saturday. Let's see if those Hillary supporters are willing to drive all the way to Canyon for the Randall county convention.

I'll be there. With bells on. ;)

7. I did too
The fact of the matter is that the Democratic party is awake in West Texas. We haven't been this strong since before LBJ closed our air base in the 1960's. Senate district 31 may not go Dem completely but this year, we're giving those repubs one hell of a run.

Yeehaw!

3. You don't hear as many of these stories for Clinton
I know that it's anecdotal, but that's just my experience.

There are a couple of lukewarm repubs in my office... one is MIA now that his Romney is out (guy's a mormon)... but the other is now a delegate for Obama. Says her lifelong Repub friend admitted she was hosting house parties for Obama.

He is reaching people.

12. Same here.
I know a few repubs that are still as cynical and hateful as ever... but those that have embraced Obama, they make me all the more hopeful. :)

13. One of my neighbors told me
he hesitated & thought long & hard before he voted in the Republican primary for McCain. He likes Obama & respects him & would have voted for him, but he ended up voting for McCain because he didn't want Huckabee to get the nomination. Of course, the next day, Huckabee quit. :( But he did say that if it's Obama v McCain, he looks forward to the campaign & will have to think about his vote. If Clinton gets the nod, he's voting McCain.
