It feels so very "old boy network" to me and kind of a turn off. It was particular apparent in Carville and Wilson. Carville I sorta understand, Wilson I was a bit surprised by until I remembered he was part of the establishment.

To me, it seems like it appears that if we elect the Clintons, we are going to see pretty much what we got now. Better to be sure, but very business as usual in DC and the course of our country.

Maybe that's the big appeal of Obama. Someone who can kind of shake things up and isn't as incestuously entrenched in the day in day out activities of Washington. And part of it feels like we are taking the reins back on our government and reminding them of just who runs this country. The Clintons weren't always like this, but they have adapted to their environment and are tied to it. Hell, they'll even be competent stewards of the country, but they no longer seem to have the vision to lead the nation in the direction it really needs to go.

1. I have noticed.
Seems like the scrappier Dems are backing Obama. Watching Rendell lie nightly is a good vision of the 'Old Boy' network.

3. It sounds that way because it *is* that way.
They sound so DLC that one would have to suspend belief to reach the conclusion that they're just random.

Those payments, and others to top consultants, have prompted grumbling by campaign insiders who believe some of the cash flowing to Clinton’s Washington-area brain trust could be better spent elsewhere, given the cash pinch that kept the campaign from matching Obama’s investment in recent states.

6. You don't get it, says this beltway type.
By the way, I was at a fund-raiser with Hillary last night in D.C. Gave her a hug, just for you.

Having been around D.C. a long time, I think many of you are quite naive. One person can't change everything as President, as they have to deal with the hundreds of congresspersons that actually pass legislation. The actual power of the President is limited.

The reason beltway types are for Hillary, and some are not, by the way, is that she is a seasoned veteran of this city and it's ways. She knows what it takes, and she has seen it at it's best and worst.

Obama is full of wonderful idealism, and so is every college intern that shows up on the hill. What we need is a President that can get something done.
