One thing Obama could say that would lose my vote in the GE . . .
"Hillary is going to be my VP"

I know that pundits are suggesting this is very unlikely, but just in case, I want to make my position, insignificant as it is, perfectly clear. After her swiftboating, Rovian tactics, lies, exaggerations, signs of early Alzheimer's (supposed forgetfulness), opaqueness (opposite of transparency) regarding her finances as well as those related to Bill's library, her donor's blatant attempt at extortion against Pelosi, her flipflopping, her failure to follow rules she agreed to,her being indebted to so many corporations, elistists, and pharmas, and so much more, but alas I'm getting worn out listing them all...anyway after all her shenanigans, if Obama puts her on the ticket, it would be the one thing he could do/say that would cause me to stay home or vote Green Party or Unity 08; notice I did not say I'd vote for McCain, because he is as bad as Hillary for different reasons.

9. Perhaps you can ignore all her traitorous and Rovian behavior, I cannot and find her to be a
Repub in Dem clothing.

15. Are you suggesting that Hillary is really going to help the economy by resurrecting Greenspan?
The person that likely is the root of the current economic mess.

19. I asked a question? Can you answer with anything besides anti-McCain cartoons.
I've already said I won't be voting for McCain.

and I honestly don't like Hillary a LOT. But if we get another Republican President, I'd be kicking myself for not voting for the Dem ticket.

23. While I agree with that
and that's why I hope Obama gets the nod, I have too much at stake personally in this election to see it go to the neo-cons. Relatives in Iraq and no health care for my family for starters. I can't afford 4 more years of Republican rule...

7. I emailed Cynthia McKinney
Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 11:30 PM by crankychatter
I told her to get ready to put out the tent stakes if Clinton gets the nomination by shenanigans.

She emailed back and said "bring your tambourine, baby"

I wouldn't advocate doing that, whether she's just the VP or the Presidential Nominee...
but it's going to be a reality whether people like it or not.

THE WAR VOTE WAS NO SMALL THING

I could barely forgive Edwards and he fairly grovelled.

I should add that many Clinton voters have said they'd vote Republican and I happily encourage that... nobody has screamed at me yet up in here.

8. I know how you feel. And I know why you shouldn't do it.
I'll preface this by saying that if I were Obama, after all that's happened, I'd sooner light my own buttcheeks on fire than pick Hillary for VP. So I don't think it's likely.

That said, I know the fury you're feeling towards her over all the bullshit and shenanigans. But no matter what happens, the alternative is McStrangelove. No matter how unpalatable it would be for Hillary's behavior to be rewarded in any way, the other side is far, far worse. And a vote for the Greens, or just staying home, is a vote for McCain.

13. McCain and Hillary are the same republican, hateful, bought-n-paid for creeps;
Hillary just wears the Democratic Party clothes, which she has been more than a little traitorous about.

but i would still vote obama. a vote not for obama is a half vote for mccain. lesser evil is still lesser, no matter how much of an idealist you may be.

31. So if this is the "I'm voting for McCain" thread...
what can a person say...the one and only positive McCain had with me was that he was against torture. He reversed on that not long ago, under RW pressure. What else is there? You may as well vote GWB again, because the handlers who make all the decisions and policies will be the same.

I don't like Hillary, but I really don't like the idea of another election, against the most incredible odds, manipulated into a loss.

32. No, I'll neither vote for Hillary nor McCain. Not happening, no way.
Edited on Fri Mar-28-08 02:56 AM by PetraPooh
And don't tell me that a refusal to vote for Hillary on the ticket is the same as voting for McCain. It may be in some people's minds, but there is still no way I'm voting for either one, I'll either not vote or I'll see who Unity08 or the Libertarian Party, or the Green Party have to offer.

33. That's a tough position for me to comprehend
Have you ever read Asimov's "Foundation Trilogy"? It's a good read even without any associations, but in the book there are mentalists capable of "handling" the minds of individuals. Its a good analogy to how the media, on behalf of the RW, manipulates and handles minds....a good man stands for election, but sufficient doubt is laid and gut reactions planted that a certain number find themselves incapable of casting that ballot. The same has been done to Hillary. Perhaps there are other reasons, perhaps you haven't been "handled". There is plenty of time for all the thought and self-examination necessary before the GE.

Peace.
