Limbaugh's Operation Chaos - the Convention
Edited on Fri Mar-28-08 09:13 AM by bryant69
I don't know if anybody has brought this up (I don't spend a lot of time in the primaries section for obvious reasons), but Limbaugh was sitting high on the hog yesterday explaining how his Operation Chaos was going to mess up the convention.

"However, the second and third phases of Operation Chaos consist of exactly what you have heard happening in Texas. Our operatives actually are being named delegates to state party conventions. The third phase of Operation Chaos leads to some of these delegates actually being named delegates to the Democrat National Convention in Denver.

. . . Let's fantasize for a moment about where phase three of Operation Chaos could take us. Let's say we get down to this convention and they get into a credentials fight, and all of the votes that have taken place up 'til now in the Democrat primaries are rendered meaningless. The superdelegates weigh in, credentials fight, all that goes on. Let's say that it comes down to a close vote, 10, 20, maybe 30 votes separating Obama and Hillary. Phase three of Operation Chaos makes it quite possible that my operatives will determine your nominee. It's quite possible I will be choosing the Democrat nominee with operatives inside the Democrat National Convention, covert operatives.

. . . So even if you are forewarned, you will not know, and you will not be able to trust and you will not be able to confirm just which of your delegates in Denver are mine. Part of Operation Chaos. They will have been credentialed. They will have passed all the tests. They will have been to state conventions prior to arriving in Denver. They will have been briefed. They will be told how to vote by me, depending on their number and the closeness of the final vote at the Democrat National Convention in Denver.

They will be able to receive my constructions via the encrypted hand-held device that nobody will be able to debug because nobody will know whose is encrypted and whose isn't. We will also be sending dummy messages to legitimate Democrat delegates, hopefully we can get some of the legitimate delegates thrown out, as impostors, phase four of Operation Chaos.
"

I don't know how seriously to take this; but thought i would pass it on to see if anybody else had any thoughts on it --> http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_032708/content/01125113.guest.html

But I am not part of any Obama tribe that does the great warfare that has engulfed this forum.

And at any rate if we talk about the issues, Obama and Hillary are not all that different.

24. thousands of GOP switching affiliation in North Carolina
I spoke with an election director in one of the mid size counties yesterday,
he said that he had alot of republicans who were switching to unaffiliated,
because they wanted to have a say in who the next president was.

In NC, unaffiliateds can vote in either the GOP or DEM party, as long
as that party has made it open to them.

This year, as usual, both parties opened their primaries to the unaffiliated.

31. Ask your friends and neighbors what they're thinking, I've spoken to some NC Republicans who are
seriously considering Obama and Clinton as good choices this election. It's probably happening all over and maybe this stuffed pig is trying to make it seem like the number of Republicans who are sick and tired of the current crop of Republicans and ready to vote for a Democrat are really his "operatives". They're trying to play us and it's working with a lot of people on this forum (LOOK HOW MANY PUBS CROSSED OVER FOR HILLARY!!! SHE'S PUB-LITE!! I TOLD YOU OBAMA VOTED LIKE A REPUBLICAN, LOOK HOW MANY REPUBLICANS VOTED FOR HIM!!)

When he says they want to have a say in who the next president is, I can see that. They are smart enough to see the writing on the wall, they've asked their friends who they're voting for, a lot of their friends are probably not going to vote or will vote for a Democrat, so they change parties so they can make sure the one they think will be best as president makes it to November. I don't think moderate Republicans are going to vote for Hillary in NC. I don't know how they'll trend in PA, but I think the anti-Clinton machine has been working it's hate for so long here in the south.

PS - when I wrote 'crop of Republicans', I accidentally wrote crips.

37. When your guy doesn't have any solutions to any problems,
attack the ones who do. Seems anti-American to me. But I doubt it's worse than I think. McCain was nominated DESPITE Rush, who then spent the next week (or two -- I don't know because I rarely listen) telling his listeners that he is still relevant.

Bush's 30% take Rush at his word. They have, to the extent possible messed with OUR (Democrats') politics. It's slimy and hateful, but this is what I expect from that contingent. Will they be at our convention? I don't think so. I'm 99% certain that we will have settled on a candidate well before August, despite arguments to the contrary.

4. Well it's a very competitive process
it will be hard for any first-timer to get elected to national. They have to get elected out of their county conventions to get to state & then elected out of the Senatorial Districts to get to National. Good luck with that, Rush.

26. since the GOP nom is over, there ARE many repugs who want a say in the election
and exit polls showed that many voted for Hillary in Oh and TX
who had no intention whatsoever of voting for her in the GE.

In fact, there is an investigation in Ohio to seek charges against
some of those voters. They have a thing about people who
switch parties just for one day, just to tilt the outcome of the election.

Yes, the question is absurd, but it's half serious.

The idea that political leaders should want the best government is lost on America haters like Limbaugh. He has made it a sport, but real consequences result from destructive maneuvers like this.

32. At my Precinct Convention in Texas, his "Operatives" left as soon as they signed in
They didn't want to be a delegates. There were about 8 "Operatives" who did showed up.

When you think about it, how many do you think would want to spend 8 hours hanging around the "democrat convention" with ALL those democratic people?.?.?

Then when the state convention in June comes around we have 3 days of selecting our delegates to National. That's asking a whole lot from his dittoheads.

39. By their remarks, they weren't hard to identify
They used RW talking points when I was setting up the room, one old man approached me telling me how Obama was a Muslim, how Obama didn't get sworn in on the bible, that Obama was unpatriotic.

Their little group were disruptors, very rude to most people there. As soon as they voted they left.

They also accused me of being dishonest, that I would not turn in the paperwork, that had Clinton's name on them. Which was not the case at all. I turned in ALL the paperwork the very next day just the way I received it. I could've been dishonest but I BELIEVE in Democracy.

I even called ALL the Clinton delegates to remind them about the SD Convention coming on this Saturday. I didn't have to do that, I could've let the Clinton campaign do that instead of me, but I did it none the less.

48. Not sure if you're responding to me, so, I'll answer your question anyway
First off, I have to ask you a question.

Who told her that, Who are they supporting?.?.?

Answer to your question.

That is not correct. That is not how the convention works.

After signing in with your candidates preference, people who want to be delegates are then elected to represent the candidate they chose. Of course once at the County/SD convention you can switch your support to another candidate, if one chooses to do so.

I'm a little confused by your post.

Were they told everyone had to ALL vote for the same candidate, or that they had to vote the same way they did at the precinct level?.?.?

This will be my first SD convention, so I still have a lot to learn. Wish me luck.:hi:

49. Oh yes, I know that's not how it works... I've been a delegate...
and hearing that made me suspicious. I asked her who told her and all she said was 'the lady that trained us' which didn't tell me anything. She's out sick this week but when she told me this I explained to her that that person was flat-out wrong, and why.

In the past I'd have written it off as simple ignorance... but this year it makes me suspicious.

Hope you enjoy your first convention! Is it still SD where you live? That's how I've always done them, but this year this friend of mine said our county is doing a county convention. Hah... that ought to be a nightmare.

It's a BLAST and I'm sure you'll enjoy it... have fun! :hi:
