As an early babyboomer, it's my opinion that, at this point in time, the babyboomers have been part of the problem for too long now to be able to fix it. The issues are so huge... global warming, Iraq, the mid-East, our economy, globalization, growing inequity all across the globe, enery/oil issues, shifting balance of powers around the world, the threat of terrorism... all of these issues will take years/decades to solve. The babyboomers can't solve them. It will take new, fresh creative minds and ideas to solve them. Barack Obama is a transitional figure, born near the end of the babyboom generation and the start of Gen X. He is more capable of providing the leadership necessary to begin to solve these issues than Hillary, an early babyboomer, is.
