Poll question: Pastorgate or Snipergate?
Which is more damaging to a candidate in the general election?

1. One is 2nd person. The other is 1st person.
And that makes all the difference in the world.

2. hmmmm....
Are the lies told by an actual candidate for President more important than the truths told by someone who knows a candidate?

No, not a tough call at all.

3. I would say Snipergate.
It fits into the repugs narrative on Democrats. That we are a bunch of lying bureaucrats.

4. What would snipergate have to do with a candidate in the general election?
I did not hear Obama or McCain say anything about snipers....

9. Snipergate...
examples of one's lack of integrity and honesty. Is this a person you want as President, someone who will lie with such ease? Haven't we had enough lies? Aren't 4,004 troops dead over lies?

10. Match the quote: Clinton or McCain?
Edited on Fri Mar-28-08 01:25 PM by baldguy
When asked about Rev Wright -

A) "I do know Sen. Obama. He does not share those views."

B) "He would not have been my pastor. You don’t choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend."

=====================

I think that says it all.

15. Hillary's own words reveal her to b a liar
Obama has only got a pastor with some unorthodox views. My pastor is a Republican. Am I supposed to be responsible for him now too? I ain't my brothers' keeper. But i am responsible for what comes out of my own mouth. Hillary lies and she has a nasty habit of lying "35 years of experience", "ready from Day 1", etc etc etc etc.

17. Pastorgate, because I expect more to come from it in the general election.
Edited on Fri Mar-28-08 06:13 PM by TheUniverse
Sniper gate will be forgotten but pastorgate will turn off some voters in the general.

19. That's a bit of a flamey question, but I'll answer.
McCain will not bring up questions of religion in the GE. He's said some shit in the past about Falwell, and then cozied up to him when he wanted votes. Then there's Chuck Hagee. He doesn't want to "go there" at all. So, "Pastorgate" won't be pimped by McCain in the GE. (Maybe a 527 will bring it up "without McCain's knowledge or endorsement" however.)

The "sniper" thing... He (McCain) might mention that. That can and will be turned into a "gotcha" point in a GE debate. If he can bring the debate around to "Who was really in a dangerous situation", then that would be bad news for Sen Clinton. It doesn't amount to much to me, but it might resonate with old & young veterans. It's like when Joe Internet Warrior gets caught in a lie about serving in the armed forces.

McCain's Leg To Stand On is likely stronger with military stuff than religious stuff.

20. McCain is already using Pastorgate
That's why John McCain's campaign can portray him as "The American President Americans have been waiting for."

This is to contrast McCain with "The immigrant's son who hangs out with an anti-American preacher" (I put it in quote marks because it is not how I would describe Barack Obama - even if it is based on available evidence).
