Ever take a look at McCain's Heath Care plan?

The basis of it is the elimination of company sponsored plans via the elimination of tax deductions and the substitution of individual responsibility for all. The plan relies on the idea that your company will give you the money that they are now paying to insure you and you will buy insurance with that money.

The plan would be the greatest tragedy we've yet seen.

Okay, it wouldn't apply to absolutely everyone. I mean, there are some people who are so wealthy that they can buy a wing of a hospital if they want to. This would still put more people in America into the same boat, and maybe increase the pressure for real change.

I remember an Edwards town hall meeting where a woman said she had a friend who had cancer 30 years ago and was in excellent health. The friend was also a successful business person who could afford to pay anything for health insurance, but no company would offer it to him because he had a "pre-existing condition." If the McBush "plan" went into effect, the number of uninsured would skyrocket on that basis alone.

condition will be fucked. If insurance companies aren't forced to take people with pre-existing conditions as part of getting the company's insurance load then anyone who has any illness won't be getting insurance.. I can't get it now because I'm self employed and I have two kids with illnesses..

BTW many people are not as lucky as I am. They get no health care from their employers.. what about them?
