Ever take a look at McCain's Heath Care plan?
The basis of it is the elimination of company sponsored plans via the elimination of tax deductions and the substitution of individual responsibility for all. The plan relies on the idea that your company will give you the money that they are now paying to insure you and you will buy insurance with that money.

The plan would be the greatest tragedy we've yet seen.

no one at DU wants McCain as president.

22. We'd probably have to make the pie higher.
And more and more of our imports would come from foreign countries. I'm sure of it.

24. "I can press when there needs to be pressed; I can hold hands when there needs to be -- hold hands."
And if that is confusing for you, let me clear it up by saying, "If you've got somebody in harm's way, you want the president being -- making advice, not -- be given advice by the military, and not making decisions based upon the latest Gallup poll or focus group."

3. Millions more left out in the cold. WTG you greedy bastards!
Repugs believe only those who can afford health care should have health care. Same way they feel about education.

4. McCain is a trojan horse constructed and pushed by the Corp. Media.
Sure, it looks nice and moderate on the surface. But inside there are tons of bad ideas and extreme RW values just waiting to get out.

5. Well, at least it would finally put everyone on an equal footing.
It might end up hastening the move to single payer, ultimately.

 Not everybody. Those who can afford private health insurance are not vulnerable, are they?

23. Even those who can afford private health insurance can still become uninsurable.
Okay, it wouldn't apply to absolutely everyone. I mean, there are some people who are so wealthy that they can buy a wing of a hospital if they want to. This would still put more people in America into the same boat, and maybe increase the pressure for real change.

25. You can afford private health insurance, but not be eligible for it.
I remember an Edwards town hall meeting where a woman said she had a friend who had cancer 30 years ago and was in excellent health. The friend was also a successful business person who could afford to pay anything for health insurance, but no company would offer it to him because he had a "pre-existing condition." If the McBush "plan" went into effect, the number of uninsured would skyrocket on that basis alone.

He'll do something insanely conservative. Then do something kinda liberal. So that puts him "in the middle".

That's atrocious.

I cannot WAIT for our nominee to ream McSame's ass over this. This should turn off voters in a big way if it is exposed.

Yeah give the money to the CEO's and the corporations and it'll "trickle down" to the poor.

Gotta love those "experienced" ideas.

20. His website actually refers you to a link to a Fortune Magazine article
that lays it all out, in glowing terms. According to them, the healthy competition for workers will keep the corporations honest & willing to pay workers the difference in order to attract & keep them. Right.

27. I bet they neglect to mention that anyone with a "pre-existing"
condition will be fucked. If insurance companies aren't forced to take people with pre-existing conditions as part of getting the company's insurance load then anyone who has any illness won't be getting insurance.. I can't get it now because I'm self employed and I have two kids with illnesses..

And I disagree also.

Sorry.... why should your unsubstantiated opinion over rule the opinion of the owner of the company I work for as well as myself?

BTW many people are not as lucky as I am. They get no health care from their employers.. what about them?
