http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/03/superdelegates-pledging-to-back.htmlHere is the summary of changes from Demcomwatch this week
3-20-08 - Added DNC Carol Ronen (IL) for Obama. She endorsed him a while ago but we just found a valid source.
3-20-08 - Added Gov. Bill Richardson (NM) for Obama.
3-22-08 - Removed Mike Panetta (DC)# from the superdelegate list. He had endorsed Obama.(1)
3-25-08 - Removed DNC Paul Kirk (MA) for Obama. Link we used doesn't meet our standards. New article is saying he is uncommitted(2)
3-26-08 - Added Rep. Dan Lipinski (IL) for Obama
3-27-08 - Added new Connecticut Add-on Don Williams (CT)# for Obama.
- Removed Rep. Albert Wynn (MD) from Obama after he announced his resignation today.(3)
3-28-08 - Added Sen. Bob Casey (PA) , DNC Steven Alari (CA) for Obama.
Moved Sen. Maria Cantwell (WA) from Clinton to Undecided.(4)
Moved Rep. Zoe Lofgren (CA) from Obama to Undecided.(4)
Explanation
(1) Panetta is not yet selected to be the add on super delegate from Washington DC but the rules state
However, the Call for the 2008 Democratic National Convention, section I(I), Footnote 5, states:
The District of Columbia shall select its Statehood Representative, if a Democrat, as one of its two (2) unpledged add-on delegates.
So he will be added and he is for Obama but his number will be subtracted from Demcomwatch totals for now and added on later when he is official.
(2) He is referred to in the article as endorsing Obama but not strong enough for Demcomwatch
(3) Wynn resigned having lost the primary. The person who won the primary has endorsed Obama.
(4) Both of these superdelegates have said that they will vote for nominee who has the most pledged delegates. You could argue that Cantwell should be added to Obama's numbers but Demcomwatch has made her neutral. To move Lofgren to neutral seems strange to me because she is talking about an unlikely hypothetical comment while Cantwell is talking about something that has happened. Hopefully Demcomwatch will agree.
As you can see there are several people who are known to be add on superdelegates and they already have endorsed Obama. So far only two 'add on' superdelegates have announced their preference - both for Obama.
