A comment about anti-Clinton posts from an Obama supporter
Let me be clear first, I'm not a Clinton fan, her behavior has aggravated me at times and I really hope she doesn't get the nomination, but if she does, I'll vote for her.
However, I'm just disgusted by the unfair attacks on her in this forum (yes, alot are trolls but there are some high post members that should be ashamed of themselves). Calling her a neocon, fundie, personally responsible for the war in Iraq are dumb and just ignorant and DELIBERATELY inflammatory. The neocon stuff is freaking hilarious considering how as the First Lady she was constantly attacked as being too liberal, MORE liberal than Bill!!
There are times when I am ashamed to be associated with the so called Obama supporters because of this. As far as the public bickering between Obama and HRC..Its NEVER stooped to the level of childish poo-flinging I see in here.
I take my mother's advice: If you don't have something good to say about someone say NOTHING!
I think that the Obama supporters can find plenty of positive stuff to say about our candidate. Stop embarrassing yourself with the kindergarten crap.
And yes, I am aware that there are some pretty nasty Hillary supporters too, who say some despicable things who also should grow up, but they are far in the minority, IMHO.
Now, I'm sure this will sink like a rock, but I just want to TRY to bring SOME sanity to this mess.

2. The atmosphere in here has been rather toxic lately. A little civility would really help.

4. I find your comments highly ironic because it looks like you are
doing exactly what your mother told you not to do.

But if you consider your words positive, then more power to you.

Just saying...

5. Did I slam all of the pro-Obama people? No.
I am trying to point out to certain people how their tactics look even to people coming from the same point of view.
As I said, I'm not a Hillary person, but I sure have spent a lot of time defending her because of all this crap.
Sorry you missed the entire point of my post.

8. I did see the point. I just thought your mother's admonition
that if you have nothing positive to say don't say it kind of destroyed the internal logic of your post.

But again, if you don't see it then

12. I don't know...isn't logic appreciated wherever it may be?

That is the thing I love best about Obama myself.

And notice I didn't attack you...I just pointed out the contradictory nature of your post.

See if you had just asked Obama supporters to not say anything bad about Hillary and then used your mothers quotes then it would be a cohesive argument.

But because you called people "dumb and ignorant" then you had bad things to say - exactly contradicting your mom's homily.

7. We shouldn't hold Clinton responsible for her vote to authorize war?
Her vote was somehow not an indication of personal responsibility for starting the Iraq War?

Huh.

Do you really believe that ONE fucking vote would have made a difference?! Any yeah, I didn't like that vote but to claim SHE ALONE was responsible for the Iraq war is nuts. I hold BUSH responsible for it.

13. No one claimed that SHE ALONE was responsible.
However, she does have responsibility for her ONE fucking vote. ONE fucking vote to start the war in Iraq.

10. Only if...
...you hold the same standard for all the other Senators...such as the one's endorsing Obama. He sure as hell does not criticize them, does he?

14. Last time I checked, those Senators weren't running for President.
I mean, we're in a Presidential contest. That's why Presidential candidates are running against each other, not other Senators. Golly.

15. The last few days has been fairly civil around here.
Why? because a bunch, gaggle, small herd of Hillary supporters decided to boycott DU.

It used to be Hillary and Obama were basically the same. 6 of one half dozen of the other. Both were too close to the New Center, which is actually Mid-right in the political spectrum. Yeah, Right of Center, both of them. Because of that and because all the good candidates were eliminated, I was luke warm about both Hillary and Obama. I am still luke warm about Obama. Hillary, and her DU supporters on the other hand went very negative. Using right-wing and Karl Rove playbook tactics, Hillery, her campaign and her DU supporters have turned me off on her candidacy. It she should win the POTUS and govern the same way she campaigns, how would that be an improvement over what we have now?

Even being only luke warm for Obama, I don't see anything near the negative from the Obama side as I do from the Hillary side. The negativity has shut me down as far as Hillary is concerned. With the blind devotion to Hillary by some of her vocal supporters here, they are a dictators wet dream. The same as the 30%'ers for bu$h. Reality, obvious facts, reliable sources, common sense, etc, have no place in their attacks. I see no difference between some of the Hillery supporters and the far right knuckles dragger's. The last few days has been civilized with them mostly gone.

The fact is Obama is responding very well to the Hillary attack machine. It is his center/center-right views I have a problem with. We really need to get this country back on track with a strong, good leader that actually is a little to the Left of center. The Powers running this country made sure they were eliminated early on. Obama is all we have left. And he is far better than Hillary or McCain. The way Hillary is campaining, they'd make a good pair.

21. The 11th Commandment
Remember the 11th commandment as per Ronald Reagan, "Thou shalt not speak ill of thy fellow Republican." This is in part why they have won the White House 7 out of the last 10 times. We could learn a thing or two from this and actually benefit from it by tempering our words about our fellow Democrats.
