Damn this is PATHETIC and WEAK!
In a conversation with two Democratic allies, she (Hillary) compared the situation to the “big boys” trying to bully a woman, according to interviews with them.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/29/us/politics/29dems.html?em&ex=1206936000&en=e68db72d8213dcef&ei=5087%0A

Please can we get away from the "Big Man Bully Small Woman" thing? This is why Hillary is not my choice for first female President. How embarrassing.

1. Hillary cracks me up
She's like that kid who keeps stealing the other kids toys and then screams at the top of her lungs when the other kids defend themselves.

What an embarrassment.

5. Worse. She's like a woman who slaps faces and then protests "you can't hit a girl!"
Appalling.

I'll tell you what a neighbor told me, she said she couldn't elect Hillary because she didn't want her crying when things got tough, like she did on t.v., when she was began to loose.

How's that for the image of a strong feminist president. No one did that for Hillary but Hillary and that is what a lot of folks know about her in this election, the tears and the wild mood swings and the inconsistencies. She did that all by herself.

11. I think it's rather remarkable that Obama actually emphasizes positive 'femininity' better.
Edited on Sat Mar-29-08 12:49 PM by TahitiNut
(Again - to be clear - I'm not giddy over either Obama or Clinton. I'm still supportive of Kucinich's positions.)

I've noted this before, in http://journals.democraticunderground.com/TahitiNut/477

As we should ALL be aware, we're all complex beings variously able to express ourselves across a wide range of appropriate (and inappropriate) ways ... and each of us have the "Yin and Yang" - feminine and masculine 'sides'. Speaking for myself, I've ALWAYS felt most comfortable with folks in which there's a balance of drives and perspectives ... "sensitive" males and "adventurous" females, to make just one superficial characterization. In that same sense, I've never found much comfort in the company of those enslaved to some stereotype - "girly" girls or "macho" males.

It just seems to me that Hillary far too often chooses actions and reactions in inappropriate ways - more exploitative than balanced. There's just something "off" about her behavior. Contrived. Self-serving. Predatory.

For some reason, she just seems to take the "dark side" of each aspect. Dunno. It's very off-putting.

17. I was Kucinich or Edwards
Of the two that are on the ballot, I'll take my chances with Obama. I do like his foreign policy stance and I don't think he is so entrenched in "politics as ususal" that he will continue the madness of the last 7 years.

I too, see her behavior as contrived, sometimes theatrical, sometimes just spoiled as if she is entitled, most definitely manipulative.

And I disagree with those that think she is "the feminist" candidate that will break the glass ceiling, I see the opposite as I wrote in this post.
http://journals.democraticunderground.com/merh/87

The good ole boy system is bad enough, has harmed our nation long enough. To sell your soul and trade your individuality to become a part of it to further what you conceive to be your destiny are not the actions of someone I can trust to truly govern as this nation needs to be governed.

18. Bill Clinton and his "but it's okay to say that about a girl"
Edited on Sat Mar-29-08 12:55 PM by Skwmom
or something along those lines made me cringe. What I find so outrageous is that her male supporters, like Bill, think women are so stupid that they can be emotionally manipulated. It speaks volumes about what they really think of women.

We'll see how many times she can go there.

10. She's overplayed her gender hand and should step aside if she
can't win on her merits. She's beyond embarrassing. As a woman, I find the continued play of the gender card by her team disgraceful.

12. I'm glad this is being discussed at this calm level.....
Every time she pulls some stunt like this I really believe Hillary is making it harder for women to be taken seriously in politics. I DON'T get it.

At the beginning of this season I would have gladly given her my support and vote if things had proceeded like the press and her and Bill and everyone else thought it would.

Obama came along and changed that for me,(and millions of others, apparently) and so I changed my support to Obama.

I always considered Hillary a viable candidate in the back of my mind, though, and if she were to get the nomination, I'd be glad to give her my vote.

But every time she opens her mouth, every time Bill pulls some NEOCON one liner, every time I hear of them sitting with "The vast right wing conspiracy" morons, I just want to tear my hair out.

This is getting hard to defend. Is she REALLY a Democrat??

Why do I keep thinking about Lieberman the traitor??

20. oh man, i'm going to say it... I KNEW that was going to happen!!
she's being "bullied". But I was hoping that she wouldn't play the gender card thing again. I HATE when women do that!! If a woman in my office did that (I'm one of 5), they wouldn't have a job for long. Hopefully she doesn't cry now.

28. The triad of Victim/Villain/Rescuer is constantly played in political melodramas.
In 'real' life, the costumes are almost always deceptive. As folks adopt the 'Rescuer' role, they NEED a supporting cast ... and often draft others into those roles. Likewise for those addicted to 'Victim' roles. Rarely does ANYONE admit to playing Villain - it's most often done behind the scenes by either Rescuers or Victims.

The fact that this melodrama still plays to folks ... ever in search of a Snidely Whiplash to whom they can hiss and boo ... is really appalling.
