Is it arrogant for Obama to come out and say 'I'm the nominee'?
All the experts say, barring a major scadal (like him being revealed to be client 10 or something) or something happening health wise, he probably will be the nominee this Autunm. Mccain is now acting like he's the nominee, the rest of republicans are acting like he is, and even most in the Clinton camp are acknowledging this to be the case.

Is it arrogance or just being realistic?

6. I think that if after all the states have voted and he is still
ahead and he has enough supers on board to get him to 2025, he should be referred to as the presumptive nominee.

8. Rendell said this--a Hillary surrogate quoting Obama. I think Fast Eddie
is full of shit. The latest coordinated attack against Obama is now to call him "arrogant". Please don't fall for it, Obamites.

Edited on Sat Mar-29-08 03:24 PM by galaxy21
No disrespect to Hillary, but he can't keep wasting his time with her. She's in a world of her own now..and is going down ugly.

21. You're so right. It's time Obama focuses on McBush because MSM sure aren't!
"Teflon" McBush has been getting a free ride from MSM (excluding MSNBC because of "Hardball", "Countdown" and Dan Abrams' "Virdict") and although the Clinton supporters don't want to face the fact that Hillary will NOT be the nominee as the tide is turning real ugly against her now, fact is, Obama needs to go on the attack of McBush a.s.a.p.

There's an already very false assumption of this so-called "maverick" who, according to his votes that bely his rhetoric on the Senate floor and Repub-friendly weekend media, he's as right-wing as the rest of the Republicans.

Also, in attacking Obama those weeks, why wasn't the fact that Hillary being a member of some cult-like faith-based camp/organization that has members like Sen. Sam Brownback, not been reported on? I've only seen a small segment with the investigative reporter, I believe, on CNN around 10:30 in the morning PST, and perhaps a little on MSNBC "Hardball".

Otherwise, "mums" been the word regarding this.

11. That'd be awful strategy, but what he CAN do is
focus on McCain. Go into GE mode, toss Hillary an occasional reference, but by all means GO AFTER the Republican candidate- John McCain! Continuing to flesh out his stances, like he did with economics, is also a winner.

29. I thought it was a hypothetical question....
I haven't heard anybody say he IS the nominee, but that he will probably be -- even when I hold my nose to see what they're saying on Faux News! Maybe I missed something. I would be extremely surprised if O literally tried to put on the crown before Hillary was out of the race. Sounds like more rumors and twisted facts to me.

Edited on Sat Mar-29-08 03:26 PM by featherman
Who can say what Obama's phrasing was or if it was arrogant. I doubt it was anything but a realistic assessment in a conversation between two pros. Everybody needs to get a grip in the "arrogance" thing about people. Basically it's a cheap shot that can be leveled against anybody at anytime.

30. I'm asking that question a lot :-)
I don't expect an answer from the question to drop out. But I remember how the media hounded Edwards to drop out. That was the only question they asked him for the last weeks of his run. And at the time they were setting up a two man round table debate - leaving him out.

But this isn't revenge or anything about that. It's about what she needs to do at the convention when she tries to take it away from the "will of the people". See where I'm going with this? Is that what democrats are about? Trying to take it away from the will of the people?

But even though this subject is in the news. They are not hounding her like they did Edwards.

Why the fuck do people give her so goddamn much slack. IT'S OVER. She only has the potential of winning 3 states. It won't matter. She's done. I don't know why she thinks she has any business to continue running except pure ARROGANCE.
