Are you willing to sacrifice your principles to win in Nov?

That is one of the questions facing Democrats today.

First, do you think it will be necessary to lie, cheat and steal to win in Nov? Not just standing up to swiftboating but attacking, lying and swiftboating the repukes.

If you do, can you rationalize supporting a candidate that will do such?

This post is not intended to support one candidate over the other but to get these questions in the open.

If you answer in the affirmative to the above questions, then you might want to support the Democratic candidate that will do best at it. One is clearly better.

Personally, I have not totally given up on our system, our Democracy and I believe that we can get a good government established without becoming repukes. But I might change my mind.

PS: I know I am taking a chance here in GD-P, hope I don’t get any on me.

3. Do I have another choice?
No candidate presents a real choice when
it comes to principles.. they're all part
of the one-party system, the Business Party,
as Chomsky puts it.

I fear that women will lose rights with Obama
as prez; that the country will be in perpetual
war with McCain as prez; and that corporate
interests will prevail with any of the three
as prez.

So, yes, I'm compromising my principles just by
voting.

9. I am done with compromising my priciples
If any candidate has to resort to lies to win then I want not part of them .

I am honest and I don't like liars who lie for gain and the win . This is how we got where we are and I am sick to death of the same old game with new faces playing it . This is not a democracy to me , it's a sell out .

I do not want a president who works with the corporations and this is what we have to choose from .

12. Why do you feel women will lose rights under Obama?
His voting record is 100% pro choice.

6. Every time I vote for the "lesser of the two evils"
I compromise my principals. Its not a perfect system.

7. Of course I will...
Just as I do a little bit every day. Unless you're some sort of a political anchorite you do it all the time. Either that or you descend into total inconsequence.

8. My principle is voting for the lesser of two evils if it comes to that
And I suspect that will mean Hillary over McCain regardless.

11. My point wasn't that we should all vote for the nominee or that we will vote for the lesser of evils
but:
If you believe that we should pull out all the stops and win at any cost, then we should choose the candidate that will best do that.
I haven't got to that point yet, I am still holding out hope for democracy.

13. Not this time.
I'm willing to do some serious nose holding, and have done many times in 40 years of voting, but not this time. All 3 candidates have voted for, or voted to fund, the killing of people for purely political reasons.

I will have none of them.
