5. Well, take the TDP rules handbook
Edited on Sun Mar-30-08 07:12 PM by WolverineDG
douse it with gasoline & light a match. Then make up your own rules as you go along when Obama wins an alternate. (ie, the rules specificatlly state that only ONE vote is to be taken; the delegate is the person with the highest # of votes & the alternate is the one with the 2nd highest; you don't get to have a 2nd vote to shut out Obama getting an alternate.)

Not enough porta-potties? Not enough food? What was the problem? They look pretty well-fed and de-watered to to me! :)

7. A complete & total disregard for the rules of the TDP
which led to the disenfranchisement of Obama delegates.

14. it does a lot more than that.
It completely turns off a lot of Dems who were there and even some who weren't. This election cycle seems to be bringing in a lot of first-timers and bringing back a lot of people who haven't cared about the election process in decades and what is the machine doing? Grinding that into the dust. Good way to get foot soldiers to work the down-ballot races and do stuff for you in the future. Effin' morons. :banghead:

Will there be a challenge on the state level?

8. So county conventions in Texas are either winner take all or they are not
If they are not (and I suspect they are not), then the folks running the Webb county convention broke the rules.

Clear (as mud) info here: http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=19437393&BRD=2290&PAG=461&dept_id=569392&rfi=6

9. No, they're not winner take all
& despite the comment of one of the local people in the party's power structure, the majority still has to follow the rules of the TDP.

15. Well, you may think it's nuts - and that's ok with me
But, we have managed to scamper along fairly well for some time.

And put a few of our own in the big White House, too.

Seriously, though - it's a good time to open a nationwide discussion about uniformity in the nomination process.

This year should teach us something of value.

19. Yeah... I kinda expected this would happen.
Someone I know who was a delegate was told that all the delegates had to agree to support one candiate.

Lunacy.

21. You need to explain better
I viewed your shole photo set but it still doesn't make much sense. A one line description is more confusing than no description at all. The only thing I can make out is that people lined up, signed in, and then <something> went wrong when it came time to vote. Unless you explain it clearly in a few paragraphs then there's no way anyone can properly advise or do anything with the information.
