Andrea Mitchell-"Did Sen. Obama misspeak?"
She was talking to Tim Roemer and said to him that Saturday during his town hall in PA, Obama said, in response to a question about abortion, "They (young women) shouldn't be punished with a baby." When Roemer responded that Obama cares deeply about women who are forced to make the difficult choice of having an abortion or not, etc., she asked him if that means Obama "misspoke." Roemer said no, that he knows Obama's position on abortion and he knows it's a difficult decision. I can't believe she pulled that one sentence out of his long, complete, thoughtful answer to that woman who was obviously "pro-life." And Roemer didn't see the town hall. It's like she was trying to "catch" Obama "misspeaking." I saw him answer that question. Talk about misprepresenting someone's position :eyes:

1. They all have their orders to find the next bit of dirt...
To maintain their ratings.

MSNBC's ratings have increased dramatically this primary season, now they've become greedy about it.

when asking people questions, getting their answers, etc.

11. That's right. He gave a long and complete answer which got applause.
But it seems like Mitchell is going to keep running with this one line.

4. You pull people in with your title...but Obama didn't "mis-speck"
so...if readers give your thread a chance...they'll get it.

But, trust me, the vast majority of readers are looking for a "misspeak" moment so they'll move on in disgust. Just an FYI!

24. Sorry...meant "mis-speAck"!
Oh well... as an Obama supporter my point which is long gone now was that the "misspeak" in your title would get the Hillary forces out en-mass.

Maybe this didn't happen.

So I was wrong. Sorry.

Peace.

so since Hillary had a bad week last week they're going to find something to throw at Obama to balance it out and make this a "tight" race again.

25. Wonder if andrea mitchell's intense
interest in finding something wrong with Obama has anything to do with hilary's statement about inviting alan greenspan to do something in her admin?

There is no way to compare hilary's Bosnia's lies on four different occasions, from a prepared statement, to anything Obama is saying on the campaign trail and it's driving them nuts.

46. Oh yeah! There was a whole paul krugman statement
about hilary 'cause of it..let's see if I can find it.

Voila! :hi:

"OK, this is pretty dumb. Hillary Clinton wants a high-level commission to analyze ways to resolve the mortgage crisis -- including Alan Greenspan.

Yes, I know people still listen when Greenspan speaks -- and John McCain once joked about taking Greenspan's advice even if he's dead. But for those in the know, AG is a key villain in the whole affair."

Don't give them the ratings simple as that. I'm a news junkie so I can understand tuning in to see what is going on. I watch Keith and PBS news hour with Jim Lehr. The rest of them can kiss my ass trying to prolong the Dem race at the demise of this country. Someone said that MSNBC's ratings have gone up well help them out and bring them back to earth, don't watch. Andrea Mitchell is pretty hard to watch anyways.

Oh, but I can. Have you seen the mess about whether or not the Kennedy family funded the airlift from Kenya that brought Obama's father to the US? These are the same people, salivating over, OMG, the Kennedy's didn't fund it in 1958! They started their funding in, OMG, 1959!!!

Pitiful, sick, and a sign of truly disturbed thinking. Its scary.

field by making up a "misspeak" for Obama? Gawd, she's a sorry excuse for a journalist. I can't believe she was on the trip to Bosnia with Clinton and knew Clinton was lying from the get go, but didn't bother saying anything. Wow, she's credible. :eyes:

case you didn't know)

I understood exactly what he said. and, for him to have phrased it that way makes me wonder. once again, believe it or not, one is actually allowed to wonder and question ANY candidate and their statements. try again, I am getting sick and tired of his supporters, at least as demonstrated in gd:p, whining every time someone challenges their hero, as though he were untouchable and above any sort of questioning.

I have been involved in reproductive choice issues for a very long time, and I pay attention to EVERYTHING that is said.

34. Obama was addressing the use of contraception, not so much abortion.
He said in the response that he had 2 daughters and would teach them ethics and morals, but if they happened to make a mistake, he wouldn't want then to be punished by having a baby or contracting an STD. I think the original question was about abstinence education and Obama indicated the teaching of ethics and morals PLUS contraception. Makes sense to me.

parsing every word the Democratic candidate utters, analysing body language, haircuts, non-verbal utterances (sighs) for something to distract us from the obvious fact that McCain is more of the same, and that the same is corruption, incompetence, war, and failure.

Andrea has a real issue with context, she did the same thing to Bill Clinton and his 'fairy tale' comment. Now we will get to see this one bite sentence from Obama over and over again on NBC nightly news.

Andrea is a perfect example of whats wrong today with our Washington press, she is entrenched right in the middle of the glamorous parties and shoulder rubbing.. ugh get her off the air already and get some real reporters.
